Rear cylinder leak was fixed last week, less then a 100 miles later it’s leaking again. :(

After the dealer convinced me they did nothing wrong, they called the MoCo. According to them, without more then my VIN number, and brief description of what they did, the MoCo is sending both front and rear cylinders. No explanation about what might be wrong, just we’ll be sending new cylinders and gaskets. The dealer described it like the MoCo was just waiting for the call that this bike was having a leaking problem. :confused5:

Robmay, being an early bike, you may want to have the crank runout checked.  While having cylinders replaced, its just a bit more labor even if you pay for it yourself.  You could get a new motor. If nothing but piece of mind.

Rear cylinder started leaking on my 07 SERK. Dealer found a small weep on front cylinder also. Put it in the shop Friday so they could get started on it. I asked them to check rocker boxes and crank runout while it's down. Waiting on answers from MOCO. Bikes build date was Jan 07. At 10,500 miles this is the first time my bike has had any problems.

Just called my service manager and he said MOCO had them remove both cylinders to also check the front, are replacing the rear for sure as the sleeve moved and would check the manner of disassembly as it may not cost anything if it's done far enough. I am to call back in a couple of hours to check with him as the forman is out to lunch. I'll keep ya posted!

If you can, snap some pictures of the cylinder with the bad liner, especially whatever evidence there is of the movement.

Chief,

As others have said you can feel the sleeve as it has slid upwards, but hard to capture on a photo. I have attached one below with two red arrows on each side of the sleeve. Where the point of the arrow is on the outside arrow is the spot where you can feel the lip.
