Locking Lower Doors
« on: August 30, 2007, 09:04:24 AM »

Saw some locking lower doors with a waterbottle attached to it at the dealer the other
day. Looked well made. So I thought I would put it on the site for those who might like something like this. If I didnt have pouches on mine I would have bought these doors.
They arent hinged but they are solid and do lock.

Here is the link...

Noticed you posted this and 2Ln had shown them off some time ago in this quote:

http://www.hogtrough.com/page3.html

Gail's HD in Kansas City was selling these for $130.  Just noticed the vendor itself is selling them for $100 including freight.  It ain't high style.  But it's not a bad idea.

I think I mentioned this in the thread Roger pointed out, but I'm real concerned w/that bottle hitting the tank on extreme left turns. :nixweiss: They may be nice if you could get them w/o that bottle carrier on the front of the left glove box.

Bottle is on the left glove box. Turning to the left brings the left handlebar towards the tank, right? At least the way I'm holding my hands up simulating it does. ;D

You never said with the assist of the handlebar, I was just thinking of it slopping around on a right turn if you had a bottle that didn't fit tight.

DOH!

That is something else to think about, but I was having the major brain "FUBAR" this morning and thinking the entire thing would be moving when you turn. :rolleyes4: :dunce: :rolleyes3: :duhk: I wonder if the bottle and cooler that is shown in the picture is provided?

I just went back and looked and found that out also. Might not be a bad deal then. I'd still like to see one on a bike. I notice the bike in the picture has the Dragon wings or something equivalent to them wonder if they'll still clear the bottle on full lock left turns. I'm not that much on having something to drink while riding and would probably like them better w/out that bottle/bottle holder. With my long legs even if it didn't hit/compromise the tank it might get in the way of my knee. :nixweiss:

Looks Good as far as locking them- The water bottle I doubt is a great idea unless you really enjoy drinking HOT Water :)
