Sneak a peek...
A couple of weeks ago, some of us from our chapter headed over to a MC that we've been ministering to this riding season. It was a big poker run with live music and a pig roast to follow the ride. Early that morning, you pretty much had to be in a trance if you looked out a window and did not smell the rain coming. We went anyway. The Lord put it in all of our hearts to be there. When He does that, you better listen. Sure enough it rained pretty much all day, spotty at times, and luckly most of the poker "runners" stayed dry. Not at the club house though. We were pounded by rain all day.
Well...to make a long story short...on the ride there, my scoot sprung an oil leak. So I stayed behind at the club house and did not go on the ride because I didn't want to aggravate her anymore than I had to (you know how cranky girls get ) So I stayed behind and just hung out...I have to admit, I was a bit nervous because I did not know what to expect. Would I be welcomed, looked down upon or who knows what?!...I felt God would take care of me though, He has all my life.
As I was getting ready to leave (many stories, a racoon with four .40 caliber slugs in it, an awesome pig roast and five hours later) I realized that my scoot was under 5" of water...aww man...As I walked around thinking about how wet my feet were going to get, one of the MC fellas crossed right through the muddy puddle got on the bike and helped me push it out so my feet would not get wet. I did not ask him to do this. He just walked up and did it! I'd like to think that he saw the love of God in me for his MC as I helped out with whatever I could when the bikes were gone and even as they were pulling back into the muddy mess.
I did not know any of them at all but by the time I had to leave, I actually had to go around and shake more than one hand. Anyway, when I got home Saturday night, I knew God allowed the oil leak to happen so I could simply "hang out" with some of the fellas at the clubhouse, help and show them the love of God by trying to serve them.
I tell you this: There is hardly a day that goes by that I do not wonder about God's purpose for writing my name in the Book of Life. Somedays, like that Saturday afternoon, he gave me a little peek...why don't you try to sneak a peek into His plan for you once in a while? He just might surprise you!
Be still and praise God.
