No offense to anyone but I would park my SERG in the back yard and let my dog use it as a hydrant to piss on before I would put any Zippers part on it.

Yours may be fine for now but my point is that based on the chitty customer service, followup and the way they have treated friends of mine I have no use for that company.
And I plan to tell that to everyone that ever ask what I think of them.

Besides, I thought your was stock!

Oh, and I forgot to add. I can appreciate your feelings in regards to Zippers and to some extent I feel the same way in regards to what I've heard about their customer service to some members here. However I would just warn people about what I have heard about their customer service and tell them I'm happy w/the products I got from them and be specific about which products they were.

When it dies, do all the other electrical componets go out too? Lights, radio, etc..

Never had this problem on a bike, but had the same on a car, the car ran fine, but then would just die. Then after about 10 minutes it would start and run fine, there were no codes or engine check lights. All other componets worked fine, radio still playing. Took it to two different shops, one dealer, none could the problem. What I found was a bad crank position sensor, $35. Doesn't throw any codes when bad, not sure if this could be the problem. But if the sensor goes bad, the ECU doesn't see the crank turning, shuts down fuel and spark.

I believe you are reading something other then I posted. :nixweiss: I'm not unhappy w/the products that I got, and I believe if you asked Don he would also say he was happy w/the 575 cams that he received from Zippers. All I'm saying is I would inform people that I'm happy w/the products I received, and advise them that some have had bad customer service from them.

That's true Gary.  At least as far as it goes.

I very much liked the outcome I had with the 575 cams.  Bike ran great.  It was a job, however, that required absolutely nothing of the vendor then that they take my money.  If one needs some greater support; look out.

In my experience I can say they are not a good company (right now) in the larger sense.  Way too many issues with what they do and how they do it and whom they do it to (us).  That being so I can say that, barring any other alternative, I'd not buy even good products from a bad company.

The 575 cams do a fine job.  People will love the way their 103s run with them installed.  The Yuills have a competent competitive product that does a commendable job for the same application.  The Yuills seem to manage to deliver their products without the quality issues I've seen from Zippers and without the service and support issues that many others have seen.  So it's easy enough to guess who I'd recommend someone spend their money with.

The sad part is I'm not even the worst victim of the company that I know of.  Others have had it worse than did I or have issues before them that will be.

Don,
That's fine and I can respect that. As you stated the 575's in and of themselves are a good product. Whenever someone asks about bolt in cams I refer them to both Freedom and Zippers as alternatives. As I also stated if someone asked about Zippers customer service I'd advise them of what I've heard also. To say that I'm never going to buy from Zippers for me personally is a stretch. Not saying that I'm going to buy something tomorrow from them, but I'm not going to say I'll never buy something either. I will say I would do my homework before purchasing a product from them to make sure it's going to be what I want, and perform as described.

I have a problem w/Howie's post implying that it has something to do w/whose friends are involved and what vendor, I guess? Hmmm... interesting the way things are perceived here sometimes!  That was not the intent of my post at all. One thing that is so great about this country, and this board. You take all the information in and a person can make a decision on what is good for them. Doesn't mean or have anything to do with whom one's friend are specifically when it comes to buying products.

That's the kind of thing that has to be water off the duck's back here Gary.  Even among people that know each other the written word alone loses too much nuance.  Even if I'm sure I'm wrong I nearly always assume someone didn't write trying to be a dick; at least initially.

You and I have gone through precisely that quite some time ago.  I called you to make sure it was all good.  As expected you didn't have a clue what I was talking about.  Henry and I did the same dance just a few weeks ago.  He wrote with concern that I was upset with something he'd written.  And I had no idea what he was concerned about.  So.... don't worry be happy (doo doo do doo do do do).

See, that's where you and I differ. I know up front you're trying to be a dick. I expect you to be a dick. When you're not, and are actually nice, it's an unexpected bonus. the more I think about it, thats true with all both of my friends.
