Realy would like to hear the story if you have time. Use to have beagles in my younger years when I lived in Mich and had time to hunt wabbits.
Well,ok,Gettinold, be'n as you asked here goes....
Back some yrs, about 2003,I think, came home from the day's work, stopped out front on the main highway ta get the mail, usual thing(I'm about 12-1300' off the hwy) got outa the truck, got the mail, walk'n BACK to the truck, just happened ta glance to my left a little and saw him just lay'n there about 40' from me.....so,I approached him, but he never made a move to get up, and I thought it was kinda odd,so reached down to pat him on the head and he just just kinda crawled toward me,but drag'n his rear....I thought.....maannnn......anyway, to shorten this up a bit, scooped him up, put him in the truck, got him to the house and got hold of a vet that does house calls, she checked him out, basically, had been rear-ended on the hwy, she kept him a couple of days,x-rays/antibiotics and all that, said "He's got a fractured hip, does'nt really warrant surgury, just needs a couple weeks to heal up" Anyway, searched the area for an owner, no luck...posted pics, all that, so I gave him a home here, was up hopp'n around on three legs in about a week, and thats how he got his name, only instead of "Hoppy" I named him "Hoppe" after the gun oil, he's a great dog,and he's been here ever since!

(probly should'a PM'd ya w/this) , but thought some others might wanna know.....
