OH...MY....GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   

got my girl back in time after two weeks in the shop of zylstra hd...but...

great ride to memphis...11 hours flat...but... 

at 9:30pm when we were heading back from beale st. in dt memphis my throttle / cruise control cable snapped...an hour and 15 min later, towtruck showed up and towed her to the hd dealer...southern thunder hd...

they did not open until noon on sunday...they were real nice and fixed her up asap...we rolled out of memphis at 2:30 pm...drove by graceland, bought a t-shirt and rolled out...but...

just when i thought the mechanical troubles were over...

120 miles south of st. louis on 55 we got off for gas...as i was gearing down...my hydraulic clutch went out...turns out the nut that connects the hydraulic fluid line at the lower right side of the engine came loose and i lost all the fluid...and pressure needed to gear down...

my cousin had to ride 40 miles round trip to the nearest wally world to find dot4 fluid...2.5 hours later after a painfully quick on the job training on how to bleed a line...we finally got back on the road...

at 4:30 in the morning i finally reached my driveway...

carli woke up and said with a smile "you don't like to do things the easy way do you" and rolled right back to sleep   

other than that the trip was great

That's the kind of stuff that makes a ride rememberable!  Plus, I'm sure the traffic rollin' into Chicago at 4:30AM was a lot better than 4:30PM!

I remember days not too long ago that we used to plan for at least 3 days of a 2 week trip would be set aside for break downs or repairs

Few hours .....not to bad....other than that, How was the rest of the trip?

1300 miles in just under 21 hrs. i say riding was great. scoot sure likes 4k rpms if it wasn't for the breakdowns...it would have been smooth sailing...

Hey Bro, next time you come thru Memphis shoot me a pm! I could have saved you some time waiting on Southern Thunder to open. Bumpus would have been a better go. Also you could stay at my house when you come in. Just let me know!
