Silver / Black I'm a novice to the dyno info. What do you mean the dyno sheet is not accurate? I'm here to pick up information.

B/D

Typical dyno sheets are scaled with number information on each side of the chart.
Those numbers are typically the same across the scale.
When that criteria is met the torque and horsepower lines will ALWAYS cross on the chart at 5252 RPM.
When a dyno sheet displays info different from that criteria I am suspect of and question the info being presented.
The info may be right or may be wrong but when presented in a chart that is different from the normal on this site, I question it!

See dyno sheet below as an example of where the curves normally cross.
Hope this helps

Now in this one you will see the lines don't match going across due to scale which has skewed the results.    Chip if this still isn't clear enough since you said there is dyno sheet rigging going on, please feel free to call Wes and validate any concern you have about the numbers on the sheet or the statements that you made above.

Thanks Harry for this post!
It clearly shows a dyno sheet that has matching numbers across the board.
That is my point exactly!
Your first post showed a sheet that had skewed numbers that didn't match.
The curves didn't cross at 5252rpm.
If I was going to make any representation as to how well my motor was running I surely would not display a dyno sheet that had to be bent folded or explained to understand the results.

So to cut through the B/S let me ask you this.
I assume your first post was showing a dyno run on your bike.
Are you telling us that with whatever you had done plus the 595 cams you are now at 120 H/P and 128 Torque?
If that's the case then congratulations, you should have a fine running bike.
If not then I'm just confused as to who's bike this skewed dyno sheet represents and what is the point of this thread!

I've been looking into cams for my 08 build for whenever the SERT,  TMAX/AT, PC get out.

BD, I am still waiting for Harley to formally announce something great for the 07 110's.  On the 08's, since Harley changed so much, a lot of aftermarketeers are not happy.  The PC, TMAX, are at least 6 mo out. The sert? I do not know, but the dealers are having to make new hardware and software purchases to be able to work on these new ones. The fly by wire throttle, the relocated components, require aftermarket to re engineer stuff.   Harley has a reason, I do not know what it is, but I think the days of interchangability are over, so are some upgrades, and even performance options.  If Harley continues on this path of changing every year, it will force aftermarket out, ending up with pipes as the only option. Look at a lot of the Japanese bikes, there is nothing left to do on them, they got very complicated.

If you do pipes, cams etc, it WILL require a different map.  The jury is still out whether Harley will allow race tuned maps to be done by dealers on street bikes.  It is a very complicated issue, the EPA, and CARB the current driving force.   But you know what, we will all get over it, and people will create the backdoors neccessary to keep the market going, but in the meantime, time is what you need, time for ALL the options on the 08's to be heralded by the aftermarket a little bit, if for nothing else, to see what, and IF their future offerings will be.  Best advice IMHO, is ride it stock till after the winter shows are over, and 08 is literally upon us.

Weren't these numbers close or a little less than Howies build??, when it was running I mean.

I think so or something like that, but I'm betting his H/P and Torque lines crossed at 5252.
You think that could be the problem?
Realitys of math have screwed up his motor.
It didn't run long but at least Howie had the balls to hold it WFO when it did run.
Howie reminds me of the guy that built my 120. Put me on the Frontier and both of them on a Buell Blast and I'm toast!

Chip,

Yes that is my bike, unfortunately I didn't notice what they put together in the way of the dyno sheet when they gave it to me.  Originally they had the runs on separate sheets of paper horsepower and torque run separately as posted above.    I noticed there was no combined run and asked for them to be on a chart together.   They went back and printed it out, only thing was I didn't check it and didnt even notice it until after it was posted here.   Then figured out what they had done and tested the math to be sure it was good.   Tomorrow I will ask them to print one out and be sure it is to scale and email it to me.

The math is right only thing lacking is the scaling which should be easy to fix.   I wanted to keep this bike reliable and leave my roadking to be the real fun bike.   You keep pushing, don't worry about how far I twist the throttle, I twist it far enough to have fun although it is kind of funny you say this when you had to have someone else race hogasm on your bike.

The other thing this build did was possible offer a possible fix to the leaking head issues.   I guess we will see that in a short amount of time also.

Howies numbers "were" like 120 horsepower and 126 torque.

For the record, I will just clarify my information. I will not speak on anyone else's.

The peak numbers are very similar but the curve is nothing like mine. My curve is much flatter. Tq comes on much earlier. We are using the same cam. My dyno chart scales are different, and are represented as separate curves only. The link to the chart is: http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=12079.msg250685#msg250685

Just some accurate data that might or might not add any value to this entertaining thread! ::)

Damn Howie

I was hoping you would at least include the word "educational" in your post.
But it is very good entertainment!

We will see you and Binx in H/S!

Don't know SCRM-R. I'm heading to the dealer right now to discuss my new engine options. We'll be pulling it apart on Tues to see what happened. Beyond that, I have no clue right now. So far I'm into $300 to get towed home. My bike will be towed to my dealer in the morning. I'm extremely pissed. >:(

A non-HD motor is sounding better and better. A wise man once said, "It's Only $Money$...And I Can Make Some More!!" ;)

Is someone building motors that will bolt up to the 07 trannies with the internal oil lines?

Try Jim's for their 120 motors.

Try Jim's for their 120 motors.

Jim's 120 or 131 is a good option.
But you can only buy them thru the Harley shop!
I know!

Here is a forced scale dyno print out of the same data.
