Gas Mileage
« on: September 09, 2007, 11:35:23 AM »

I haven't seen much about our gas mileage
I have seen the posts on the problems we have had, and the fixes,  power commanders,SERT,T-MAT....the different pipe set ups, A/C ,Cams....
I am now wondering what most are getting for mileage, I am getting a feeling the numbers are going to be quite low for our 110s .Don't know about the 103s
And how do we go about improving it without bringing back the lean/ heat problems........
I know this sounds stupid but I was just wondering

Poker run last weekend.  2-up, mostly windy back roads, rarely made it to 5th gear the whole run.  Just shy of 43mpg

My 04 SEEG would bring a reliable 190 per tank.  My 07 SEUC is a reliable 160 per tank.  Both had high flow A/C, Rinehart Tru Duals and Power Commander...

When ya'll are indicating the mileage per tank, how low (gas left) do you run the tank?  :nixweiss:  spyder

That mileage per tank would leave me with something less then a half gallon, which is where my comfort level ends...

OK, that would put you getting 42mpg on the SEEG which is about what I'm getting in normal/all-around riding.  With a set up like yours.  Consistancy.....gotta luv it!  :-* har!  :drink: spyder

The 120 Frontier gets 38 to 39.

The two Classics tuned identical get 37 to 38.

The 95" Lowrider gets 38 to 40. (depending on Nancy's riding mood)

When on our (me, Andy and Jon) trip back east, last year we noticed that we got much better mileage on the east coast.  It seemed like the further west we came, the lousier the mileage got.  Here at home I was getting approx. 140-145 miles to the tank.  Lately, I'm getting better, up around 165-170 miles to the tank.  That may be directly related to the change in additives in Calif. gas, the recent gear driven cams, cam chain tensioner, Fueling oil pump, etc.  The heads and the compression are still stock.  The only other mods that I have.......and have had for a couple years so it wouldn't be due to these mods.....is the K&N air cleaner, the Vance & Hines Pro Pipe and the Race Tuner.
