Stage I A/C, SERT, V&H True Dual Ovals.

Lowest mpg ever was 37. Highest was 52 mpg (northern Colorado in the mountains riding 1 up)

I consistently get low to mid 40's mpg . Seems like the harder I ride it the better the mpg!!??

My brother-n-law rides an '06 RK 88" and he usually gets 1-2 mpg better than me.

When riding 2 up I usually get 2-3 less mpg than when riding solo.

Stock 103 was 44/45, with PCIII, Woods 6G cam and Vance & Hines slip-ons 40/41.
Stock TC 88 49/50, with PCIII, Headquarters 0034, Khrome Werks slip-ons 35/37.
Same mechanic/tuner, go figure.  No complaints though, they both rock

Hey St.Pete, what's the difference in 'weight' on the Deuce and the '03 FL?  Could have a lot to do w/ the 5mpg diff.   :-\  spyder

Spyder,
FL weighs about 100 more, with 15 more HP and 20# more torque and gets better mileage.  Thats what doesn't make sense to me.   ST.Pete

St. Pete, I agree........looks as if the TC88 is running a tad too rich.......but, it may have to be tuned that way to perform well w/ the 'set-up'.  The main thing is: they both run well.  :2vrolijk_21: har!  spyder

I haven't seen much about our gas mileage
I have seen the posts on the problems we have had, and the fixes,  power commanders,SERT,T-MAT....the different pipe set ups, A/C ,Cams....
I am now wondering what most are getting for mileage, I am getting a feeling the numbers are going to be quite low for our 110s .Don't know about the 103s
And how do we go about improving it without bringing back the lean/ heat problems........
I know this sounds stupid but I was just wondering
Gav

'06 Haze, Reinharts, Quiet Baffle, SERT,  coming back form H.S,running 75-80 about 35, below  that about  38-40 Fuel light goes on at 150 MIles, could probally go 175. Not reallly  into pushing an 800 pound Harley to get gas. When the light comes on . I'm looking for fuel ... Greg

I have never been able to get above 40 mpg on any of the bikes, even when they were bone stock.  The closest to empty I have ever gotten is 5.46 gallons on refuel, luckily never ran out although that time I did have it start bucking on an incline.  Like Texas 103 when the light comes on I am usually stopping anyhow to allow some feeling to return to my butt.   Our bikes are not as lean as they could be, but in the Florida heat I prefer the tunes to be a little on the rich side to be safe.

04 SEEG 103" getting 35 -37 mpg  when riding above 80 mph getting around 31-33 mpg
02 Roadking   getting 38-40 mpg / over 80 36-38
07 Ultra 110"  getting 37-39 mpg   above 80 32-34

Gav,  when I had my bike tuned by John Golden in Sturgis this question arose from someone else....

John's reply was that there are different variables involved.......

a twin cam motor should at sea level and at 70 mph....should get 40mpg with fuel air ratio at 13.4

at every mile per hour after 70 at sea level the motor will loose 1 mpg

at higher elevations a twin cam motor should get better mileage

We just got back from HS and pulling a trailer two-up (with one them being a LAB) we got 42 (on a weak 103 stock) no mods and running 75-mph to 80 for 1022 miles going into a head wind.

I have a 2007 with Rinehart pipes air cleaner Power commander and a Carl's speed shop of Daytona cam.
Carl got 100HP and 115 tq and I get 40 to 45 mpg.

I'm getting about 40, riding 2 up, 2-3000' elevation, twisty roads, maybe 30% highway at best, lots of throttle around the curves.
