Red SEEG was to ship 2/14/05, at least that what the dealers computer said when we first started talking about this deal 2 weeks ago. We get together on price and trade and , silly me, I expect the computer to say something like "shipped" on the 14th. No such luck, no VIN and the computer says "reserved".
On Monday dealer says that means its in the warehouse ( in York). On Tuesday he says its "probably" in the truck. Computer still says "reserved". On Wednesday I ask why there isn't a VIN and am told Harley's behind on their paperwork. Same thing Thursday and Friday. Now I'm told that nothing on the computer will change untill Monday because York doesn't work on the weekends.
It would seem to me that someone, somewhere should know something. I suggested calling the factory. Nope, can't do that. I can't imagine I'm the only bike purchaser in Central Washington that been anxious to receive his bike so I ask how the tracking system normally works. More mumbo jumbo. Lets track a recent arrival and see if we can't learn from that. Nope again, this is a CVO bike and their different. AAAAAGGHH.The most I can get out of them it will "probably be here by the end of the month."
Are there any dealer types on this board that know how this process works. Anyone at all. What does "reserved" mean. Do bikes actually ship on their ship date? Why no VIN number? What does that mean, if anything? Should I just grow up and be patient (not what I'm known for). Sorry, just had to get this out. I know many here have waited much longer than I have and I apologize for coming off as childish and selfish. How come I feel this way??
