Like this exhaust?
« on: September 16, 2007, 10:45:54 PM »

Getting closer to choosing my exhaust.  After going on a 135 mile poker run yesterday, I seen and heard a lot of different pipes and I seem to be hooked on V&H's pipes.  Now the hard choice between the different slip-ons for their "Dresser Dual"/true dual setup.

I saw this pic on another forum and thought it fir the lines of the SERK perfectly and had an old school appearance.

Any thoughts of how this would look on my Razor Red SERK?

Can't say that I like it. Just looks too long and alittle out of place.

Okay, I am a fan of the '40s lead-sled, put on the zoot suit look.  These compliment the curve of the bags pretty well, but there is something out of proportion.  Maybe it's the camera angle, but they seem a little over-sized.  And they would be very vulnerable sticking out that far.  I shudder every time I see someone backing up to a curb and then hearing that crunch when they lean the left one onto concrete.  Don't dislike them, just not quite there.

I had these on my (the original candy brandwine SERK).  I got a LOT of comments on them.
Only thing to watch out for...backing into curbs.  I did it ONE TIME.  After replacing one of those endcaps, you learn real quick.

Enjoy, Sooiee

Agree with the comments mentioned before -- the curbs are gonna be a b*tch!!

I am going to replace my V&H True Duals (ovals) with Rineharts so if you decide on the T/D ovals let me know and I'll make you a deal on mine.

Mark, I'm not sure if those accumulated lists are a good thing or a bad thing.  They are certainly a fun thing though.

The tips remind me of the "Eagle Beak" slip-ons by Rinehart. I think that look would be great for a "Screamin' Eagle". My only concern would be what has already been mentioned.... Hitting curbs, and walking to closely to them and tearing up my shins.

Would also add I've ridden behind bikes with these kinds of ends -- downward exhaust blast hitting the pavement.  Could see it puffing up grit at slow speeds and at stoplights, almost like a leaf blower.  It also gave the exhaust note a "fffttttt""ffftttt" as it hit the pavement.
