Leather peeling

The leather edging on both my back rest are peeling. I have 10,300 miles on a garage kept (most of the time) 07. The passenger back rest has been used only slightly. Any one else experiencing this?

If you mean on the bottom edge of both sides of the backrest? Then Mine is doing it also, I've not done anything about it yet.
