What's the deal? I thought Corbin was a good outfit. After riding Chuck's bike with one this weekend, I was gonna order one. Should I be concerned? :nixweiss:

I guess it won't matter over the winter. I won't be touring then. I already have 3 seats for the SERK, so it won't hang me up at all. Thanks miker! ;)

They build their seats offered a borrowed donor bike when a new bike model is released.  Usually just one specimen to make a seat pan and everything is then worked from that original.

Sounds like they made their one-off and then later found an issue.  Even though it's a screw up at least they caught it and didn't ship more product knowing the seat is likely to blow head gaskets and shell oil pumps.

This isn't the first time that something of that kind has happened to them.  Their donor bike for the SEEGs was JC's.  He took it in as it was delivered, i.e., no rear crash guards.

Quite a few of us added rear crash guards to the bikes.  Since the salesmen at Corbin were so used to that never being a question before they really didn't know an answer.  And they just assumed the seat would fit even if you asked them about the rear guards.  Ooops.

I think I was the first to lift the leather and grind on a new seat.  But know I wasn't the last.  It's still occasionally an issue for them.  Scot had to deal with the same thing only three months or so ago.

I will be ordering my seat when I get to Daytona next month. I may order it now for pickup in Daytona so atleast I can get some use out of it before winter. Good luck with resolving your issues, I hope I don't have any. Later,Q

While I'm happy with my current and previous Corbin, I was not happy they dropped the price $200 shortly after I bought my heated Dual Tour.  They don't respond to emails.. Next time around , I'll be going elsewhere ( Sargent or the Myers)

I got response....When I called.  Then the email came afterwards.  I love the dual tour I have it just looks funny on the serk.  I am waiting on a solo with backrest in black gator.....I also bought some extra material for a fender bib, does anyone know of someone who can stitch a fender bib up?   :nixweiss:

Got mine a long time ago now.  A few months after buying it they raised their prices a bit.  I was glad mine was bought when it was.  But I didn't call them asking to pay the difference.  Don't think I would have called them after a price drop asking for a refund either.  I liked the product well enough to agree to a price and buy it.  Done deal.  If someone else later does better, good for them.  I'm certainly not going to buy a different seat next that might not ride as comfortably or as long because they had a price change now.  My ass would kill me.

My last experience with Corbin was over a saddle for my 2007 SERK. They shipped 4 different saddles (OLDER MODELS) between 08/2006 and 11/2006, finally in 12/2006 they admitted to not having a saddle to fit the 2007 SERK. I received my credit in 02/2007 minus the shipping. I received the shipping charges 04/2007. Corbin had my money for 8 months.
Their Customer Service is notorious for being non-responsive and not speaking the truth.

I guess that I should be happy that I have not received any that didn't fit.  Pain in the a_ _ to have to ship them back   :'(

Thanks for doing the hard work for the rest of us..... ;)

Talked to Corbin yesterday.  They still have not found a Serk to finish fitting the seat.  They told me at least another month!  Maybe one of our members lives close enough to Corbin to take their Serk by and rescue us Serk owners who are in an indefinite holding pattern.

I ordered a solo seat about 10 weeks ago. Told I would get it in 4 to 6 weeks. Called them at 8 weeks and they said everybody was returning the seats they sent because they wouldn't fit.  :'( They said they were getting a '07 SERK to redesighn the seat on 10/18. Hope they did as I'm getting a little tired of waiting. Also, they never called or e-mailed to tell me anything....I had to call them, so customer support is a little lacking it seems!

Whatever happened to good 'ol customer service? And I aint talking about deals on a hand shake either (it would be humorous to think it even happens these days). I'm talking about simply providing a service to the community that they serve. The friggin MOCO doesn't do it, then T-max, corbin...
