Tall windscreen for 2001 FLTRSEI2

I have tried all three factory windscreens for my bike.  The tall model still allows a very irritating wind buffet over the top 3-4 inches of my helmet.  Anyone found a taller screen for this bike or one with a different shape that might give a little more wind deflection?  I'm 6'1" tall  so getting better wind protection should'nt be that difficult...  Any input greatly appreciated.  (I'm in the "fixin" mood right now and just ordered the Bitubo rear shocks, sent the forks off to Traxxion Dynamics, and bought a Supertrapp SuperMeg exhaust to try out. )

Try these guys. They'll make you a replacement Lexan, for your W/S frame, in any size you want.

Wow-  Thanks Hoist for the rapid response!  I hope I have the same experience with the Bitubos and Traxxion forks that you have reported.  I can't wait to get the bike back together.

Great company.  I'm ordering a tinted, curved shield and soon as I can get the height measurement on the bike... :)

Thanks for the tip Hoist. :2vrolijk_21: I just ordered the 14" tinted with the recurve and was wondering if it really takes 6-8 weeks for delivery? Also how do you get the 10% discount? I didn't see anywhere to add it, so I asked for it in the comments section.

I received my confirmation from Clearview today and they did take 10% off and said they were sorry that it would take 7 to 8 weeks for shipping, because they were that back logged. Thanks again. It saved me enough to offset the shipping charge.

Yikes, that the same story I got a year ago when ordering from them for my SEEG.  I thought they did some things to increase capacity since then. :nixweiss:  Demand must have increased again, I guess.

I need to order one for my SERG now.  I plan to go with the tinted 14" with recurve, as well.

I replaced my stock 9" windshield with a 9" recurve on my FLTRSEI2 and wow, what a difference!! That recurve really moves the air up and over me. Wasn't so great traveling across Nevada in Aug. when I needed more air. but otherwise is a great product. The wait and yes, I waited six weeks, is worth it.

If the recurve is at eye level will it hinder your sight. I sit low in the saddle and hope I didn't screw up by ordering the recurve at 14 inches. :oops:

I'm 5'11" with about a 33" inseam.  I have a 12" H-D shield on mine right now and can see waaaaaay over the top of it.  14" with a recurve should be perfect, I hope.

So someone tell me if this is correct.

Went by the Harley shop today and was looking at the catalog on windshields for the R/G.
There were only windshields for 04 and newer listed in the catalog. The parts guy said the old #'s were showing obsolete.
Imagine needing a windshield for an 03 or older and being told nope, sorry don't make it any more.

So what are the options besides Clearview?

The one on mine measures 16"

Did you ask the parts guy to do a dealer search?  I found a 9" windshield for the 01 SERG I use to have by doing a dealer search with the obsolete part number.  A dealer in New York had the shield I was looking for on the shelf (pretty dusty box, but he had one!)

Did he look the numbers up or did he just tell you they were obsolete because they don't show in the catalog?  I'm pretty sure they're still available.  My dealer happened to have a 12" in stock when I asked, so I just got it, but they never mentioned not being able to get the older part numbers when I inquired about them.

If you need the part number for a 12", I can get it for you later tonight.
