Has anyone purchased the Corbin CVO Dual Tour Seat?
« on: September 21, 2007, 05:18:02 PM »

Has anyone purchased the Corbin Dual Tour CVO Heated Saddle? I have pasted the link below

http://www.corbin.com/harley/baggers/hdflh97cvodt.shtml

I am told that Mike Corbin owns a 2007 SE Ultra and had the saddle bult for his bike. They claim it is real comfortable for long haul rides. I would love feedback from a owner before I buy. It looks real good, matches the style of the bike. The Corbin CVO Saddle requires a Corbin Backrest if you want a backrest, you can't use the Harley Backrest.

I am sorry if this has been covered before. Thank you in advance for your feedback.

I have that seat as well. I rode 12 hour days for two weeks on a cross country trip this summer. I know I could not have on the stock seat.

I found the stock seat to be very uncomfortable on any long ride so I swapped it out for the Corbin. It was an immediate world of difference and its even better after your break it in (ie. ride on it for about 1000 miles so it molds to your riding position). The backrest is built into the seat so you do have to remove the fender bracket for the stock Harley backrest.

A couple of notes to keep in mind:

 - The Corbin has a single switch for the heat - unlike the stock seat that has two (front and back). I don't think that is a big deal but it is different. Both seats have high/low toggel settings so that is the same.

- I had a bit of a fitment issue. It was easily fixed by bending the tongue that hold the front of the seat in the front and the use of a rubber mallet to push the seat back into position. Once I did that subsequent removal and replacement of the seat seem to be fine.

- You can look at getting the leather piping around the seams in color. I toyed with ordering mine blue (to match the color of my bike) but since I was doing it on-line I did not want find out that the colors did not match. If you can get a sample I bet that would look sharp if there is a match.

- Several people on this site have brought up the fact that the seat can be easily stolen from the bike - which is true. You have to remove the rear strap that bolts on behind the saddle bags so the seat is only secured by the single phillips head screw in the rear and the tongue that slides into the frame in the front. You can literally take the seat off with a phillips screwdriver in a 30 seconds. There have been some postings for secure head screws that require a special chuck/key to remove. This is on my list of to-dos' - but have not gotten to it yet.

All and all i highly recommend the seat. Its a bit pricey but I think I saw a post that the price has come down some from when I purchased it about 6 months ago. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Im going down to talk to my Harley dealer this morning about ordering the seat. I prefer to have them order at the same price and have them back it. I sure appreciate all the feedback. One thing this points out. Harley's stock seat looks great, but almost every rider hates the stock seat. That is just wrong for a 35 thousand dollar motorcycle.

The stock seat just didn't work for me. First thing I noticed was the front of the seat comes up when you sit on the bike because the pan does not come all the way to the front tip where the Corbin does and fits nice and tight much better quality and much better to sit on for longer periods of time, Mrs Rooster agrees. This is my third Corbin and I am very happy with this one to. The only thing is the dual control on stock to me is better because I don't need the heat as much as her but low is not to bad but I can't imagine ever needing high myself.

Scott, I had the Corbin on for the Hot Springs trip. I know how I felt after being in the saddle for 15 hours on the Corbin & couldn't wouldn't even want to think about it on the stock one.

I got the  heated dual tour for my 07 street glide in June, and it is by far the most comfortable and supportive seat I've ever had or sat on.  WAY better than my old gunfighter .  Just wish I would have pulled the trigger a lttle later as he's dropped the price a bunch.

Was at Corbin last week.....the seat is now 699 with heat and 499 without heat. If you order it during Biketoberfest they will knock off 10% more

Does anyone have the Corbin part # for the dual heated seat that will fit my 06' CUSE?  I am having trouble navigating to the proper seat on their site.
Thanks!
