Looking very good Scott!

 :2vrolijk_21:

thanks Chip...

Never having bolted one of these together before - I am going slow and easy...  Only heartburn today was the rear rocker box...the TP rocker box has a few bolts that were impossible to get a wrench on without making/modifying a couple of tools.  And, having never installed adjustable pushrods before,  I took that slow also...

For someone real sharp, one of the pictures shows a backwards step that I had to do - lesson learned...got the cart ahead of the horse at one point.

  Anyone spot it?

Scott

Scot,
Thanks for taking us on this  journey with you. I really enjoy watching this and admire those that have the knowledge to do this on their own. Question for you... It seems the bare places on the cylinders behind the pushrods aren't as noticeable after assembly. I was wondering what you thought and if you had a straight on picture of them after assembly?

Actually, you would not notice it unless you were really looking hard for it...I was surprised how covered up the area turned out to be....

Thanks. Not as noticeable as all the parts are getting put back on.

Able to get them with some shortened tools only?  Or did you have to lower the front motor mount also?

I had to shorten the short end of an allen wrench for one area and I had to make a "stub" piece of 3/8 square stock to stick into the female end of a socket, then use a wrench on the 3/8 "stub" in another area.  Lowering the front mount was the last resort, but I did not get forced to go there...

Thanks Scott.  Just figured I'd have to lower the mount when the time came.  Glad to know that grinding down an allen wrench will get the job down.  Have a few such re- or post-engineered tools from jobs past over the years all thrown in the same drawer of the tool box.  So might not even have to grind again this time.  If so... well, tools are made to give up their lives to get the job done.

Can't make out your backward step, can only guess hook-up the TB wiring or using none easy install pushrods after putting in the rockers.

Anyway, what roller rockers are you using?  These don't look like TP roller rockers.

backwards step?

bolting down rocker supports before dropping in pushrods
installing cam cover before adjusting valves.?????????

job looks great man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  oh, are you sure you installed the little o-rings between head and rocker support?

J/K, one of many "backwards " things i have done. lolol

BTW, we want video of the beast running!

Pushrods was my guess.  Cam cover would not matter and there are no o-rings between the head and rocker support on the bullet TP Rocker box.  The rocker support is part of the box and the oil seperator/breather is very different than stock.

Scott, is there a reason you went with Cycle Rama roller rockers instead of the TP engineering ones?

Your pretty much got it...I could not install the pushrods with the lifter covers installed - there was not enough clearance.  I had to take the lifter covers back off and install them with the pushrods...lesson learned.
