George Clooney and girlfriend Sarah Larson were treated at the hospital Friday for injuries after the motorcycle they were riding was hit by a car in New Jersey.

Clooney, 46, suffered a hairline fracture of a rib and road rash, and Larson, 28, suffered a broken foot, his rep says.

They were treated at Palisades Medical Center in North Bergen, N.J., and released.

According to police, Clooney was driving his Harley-Davidson north on Boulevard East in Weehawken, N.J., at 3:30 p.m. when he collided with a 1999 Mazda Millenia that allegedly attempted to make a right turn from the left lane.

Larson appeared to have cuts on her face and an injury to her foot and was taken away by ambulance, says Weehawken police Sgt. Sean Kelly.

Clooney drove away from the scene on his motorcycle, Kelly says, and apparently met Larson at the hospital.

The Mazda driver, identified as Albert Sciancaledore, 27, of Weehawken, was uninjured.

Clooney told police he was driving in the right lane when the other driver sped up to try and pass him before making the right turn, according to Kelly. But Sciancaledore told police it was Clooney who was trying to pass cars in the right lane, Kelly says.

The crash remains under investigation.

Clooney is in the New York area filming his new movie Burn After Reading, and has been spotted out with new gal pal Larson at restaurants.

Larson made her debut as his date at the Venice and Deauville film festivals earlier this month.

Larson, a onetime Fear Factor winner, works as a cocktail waitress at Las Vegas's Moon nightclub in the Palms Casino Resort, where Ocean's Thirteen had its premiere June 6.

They've reportedly been inseparable ever since Larson flew to France with Clooney on Sept. 1 for the Deauville Film Festival. The two also dined with Clooney pal Matt Damon, his wife Luciana and five other friends at the L'Auberge de l'Abbaye restaurant in Beaumont-en-Auge.

There is a state law in N.J. that doe's not allow you to pass on the right side at any time.

I know we're all just speculating here, but what about left lane people making right hand turns, is there a law against that?

You Betcha there is.
You are suppose to be in the proper lane to make the proper turn. It is in the driver's manual.
Meaning left turn requires left lane to negotiate the turn. Right turn requires right lane to negotiate the turn.
The only exception are semi's with trailers. They can bring it out of the lane a little for the trailer.
