Sig 238 in .380. Just awesome!

Owned and shot about everything love the new Sig for a carry. might want something with a light for home use for her. But the 238 x4

For the longest time I was a Glock nonbeliever... preferred all metal guns didn't really trust plastic/polymers. I now own and my duty weapons are Glock's (22/23) and IMO you can't beat a Glock. Have shot 1000's of rounds thru them w/o jams or failures. I know of LEO's that don't even clean their Glocks and have shot more rounds thru them than I have but my military (Marine Corp) background will not allow me to come from the range or shoot my gun w/o cleaning it.

   With all of this craziness going on these days, I'm in the market for a little protection for Suzy. As many of you know I travel quite a bit, and there have been break In's in my neighborhood.  She has small hands and is about 125 lbs, any suggestions or help is appreciated.  I'm thinking a small frame 9mm or a .380

Good point... and the sound of a round being racked in a shotgun in the dark is enough to tighten up your you know what.

The only cause for concern is the collateral damage/injury of the pellets and where they could end up when the shotgun is fired. Example... down the hallway w/your children(s) bedroom behind the line of fire.

Thats an Ultra CDP II isn't it?  I have one for my Summer carry.  Easier to conceal than my Les Baer Stinger which has the 4 1/4 barrel instead of the 3" on the CPD.  Carry the Baer in the winter

Another vote for the Sig P238.  They also now have a Sig P938 (9mm).  The 238 is, IMO, the perfect carry gun and is a dream to shoot.  Not a single glitch in several hundred rounds shot through it.  Easy to control, accurate as hell, and with the right round, will do sufficient damage to a bad guy.  I haven't shot the 938 or even seen one, but it is just slightly larger.  They are not cheap, but it's a quality piece if you like the 1911 "style".

I have been looking for a P938.  It would be my first 9mm.  I have five 1911's, which is my favorite gun and what I shoot best.  Love my wifes P238 so I want the P938.

You are correct.  This is the Ultra CDP ll and I really like the 3" barrel.  Very accurate and fun to shoot.

That it is, lots of fun to shoot.  Also the easiest 1911 style 45 to carry.

My Ed Browns with a 5 inch barrel are more accurate but not easy to conceal carry.

   I hadn't thought about it but I think you may be on to something.  The only problem that I see is how the heck do you get that into the freakin' nightstand.  I've got my neices and nephews running around, how do you explain a 12 ga by Auntie Suzy's bed?  Any thoughts??  Maybe a light shade?

That is just an example, there are others...at least dogs do provide a first degree of protection and demotivation for scum with barking and behavior change, even the lovey dovey boxers (I like boxers)  may hinder scum from trying anything...

A shot gun will, without doubt settle it.

Disclosure: ...ours is a Benelli M4 Super 90,  ...10 rounds of 12 ga "pitbull" ammo with a fast as you can pull the trigger delivery oughta take care of any threat or any drywall...

What about two brackets behind the headboard? or behind the closet door? Somewhere you can grab it quick 

with young kids around  safety becomes a HUGE issue     I would not just have a hand gun in a nightstand
