Times have changed......when my Dad rode his Knucklehead across these United States in the late 30's, he carried a shotgun in a fork-mounted scabbard. Not sure you would get too far with one mounted now. I remember someone on here mentioning that they got pulled over for a sword mounted on a sissy bar in Virginia, I think.

I recall when I bought my 650 Tiger there was a guy in the Triumph shop that just rode sea to sea with his 30-30 mounted in a scabbard and said he never had a problem with anyone. Circa 1970 when bikers did run into some issues from time to time in some areas of the country, especially if you had long hair etc.
Like you said, with our sorry PC azzes now it wouldn't go over well. You don't even see gun racks in trucks out here anymore.
On another note, there have been increasing gun violence attacks from gangs in malls etc. in the Seattle area these past weeks, may have to carry 24-7 soon.
