Hello All...  I was finally able to coordinate riding, local weather and access to a camera (remembering to bring one, actually...), on my last weekend's ride.  Just thought I'd share a few pictures here. 

In the Ryukyu chain of Islands, south of Japan, I live on the largest, called Okinawa.  This last Sunday I went looking for a new beach, suitable for camping.  We found a great one on the north-west side of Kouri Island, which is located on the north-west side of Okinawa.  A bridge between Okinawa and Kouri was completed just a couple years ago, so the area is still relatively free of tourist traps.

Anyway, this is my first attempt to post pictures, so bear with me.  If it works, I'll post more in the future, as we make it to other parts of Okinawa.

I'll try to post 14 of the best pictures from this trip.

Great pics thanks for posting. Brings back memories of spending days on the beach when I was on the "Rock". If you ever get near Camp Hanson make sure you get some pics for me. Would love to see if I recognize anything.

Now on the north-east side of Okinawa.  You can see part of USMC Camp Schwab, just above the nacelle of my bike.

Here's one of the many little "trails" in the northern hills of Okinawa, which cross between east and west.  These can be a lot of fun--but can be treacherous...

Having a cold one, looking from the beach bar at Al's Yum-Yum Tree.  For those who've been here, we're next door to the Coconut Moon Beach Bar at the intersection of Route 58 and Route 6.  We're on the west side of the Island, near Zanpa.

Hope ya'll enjoyed.  If the bike keeps running well, I hope to make more of these local trips and post more pix...

Firedood, I work at Camp Hansen, so pix of this area will be easy.  But since I want to include my bike, I'll make this area my next subject for a few pictures.  Kin-ville has undergone a few changes--but many of the bars here have been around since the Vietnam era...
