« on: October 02, 2007, 05:46:24 PM »

Ok heres the route I am going to try,110+ heads,50 mil TB,se-260 cam(wanted se-264 they talked me out of it)
10.5 to 1 comp,heavy breather air cleaner,perfect fit push rods,already have sert,reinhardt2-1,
I paid for the parts all will be installed under warrenty on my FXSTSSE
110+ Heads are on back order

Any thoughts on my set up? any guess on hp/tq?

Look in the road king section, Hoist started on his build, Cybil my build he used a larger TB than you are going with.

Found out that the 110 needs a very large TB to flow properly.

I'm with Brian on this one! (bigger T/B)

But I have another question.

Who designed this engine package you have listed above?

What shop or individual?

It has been my experience that a good end result is the product of lots of homework and finding that right combination of parts! What seems really good can be a dud unless the designer of the package has experience and has done it before using the same combination.

Then your question of how much H/P and Tq will be easy. Ask them.
If they have not put this package together before then you will pay big bucks to be their guinea pig.
Good luck!

Speaking from experience I don't like to be told,
"Sorry man but that's as good as we can get it.
But please step up to the counter and pay your bill even though we didn't deliver as promised"

The package  is the same as stage 2 kit from HD,except I am using 110+ heads,The reason I am going this direction
is  I'm only paying for parts just under 2000 dollars complete and installed
And still under warranty.

I tried to go that route only with Baisley head work and same compression with domed Axtell pistons, and se 251 cams. Rode to Nelson that way 2-up and loaded, Pinged like crazy and had no low end power and heat went way up causing the rear cylinder to shut down. Now corrected different pistons with slight dome decked 100 compression now 9.6 and back to stock 255 cams. Night and day difference pulls from 1500 up of course drops off at about 4500 but may change to a different cam later but very rideable now. My results are on Latus Motors forum under Gaddis if you would like to take a look. Mike Stegman did an outstanding job and even tried several different exhaust to get it right. Good luck to you and Howie had great results also so check out all you can before making the jump.

I see no test on this package in the 08 catalog.
Plus using a 2 into 1 and different heads makes it much different from the kit listed on page 26 of the 08 S/E catalog.
Again good luck! Hope it works out for you.

Redtwin,

I saw you said you were going to wait for Harley to release a 58 for your bike, I don't know if that will happen.   You may want to consider going with a 55mm or 58mm or 62, but would leave that decision up to the guy doing the headwork and putting your package together.   For what it is worth, I had the 50mm on my 07 and until I went to the 58 I really did not see much of a difference except that I was able to obtain the larger injectors.  4.89 vs. stock 3.91 gm/sec.   One other thing to note is that if you go to the larger throttlebody have it in hand before you start your build.   I have been waiting months for HP Inc if you go thtat way to deliver my 62 for my Road King it has been very frustrating.   I received the 58 very quickly, but the 62 has taken a long long time.

I have also been waiting on the 62 for 2 months as well for the 131 we are building here. I ma glad I ordered it up before bike came in house. For most set ups for the street the 55 or the 58 would be fine.  The 55 is a nice  happy middle of the road t/b and will work very nicely on the 110
