id still do temp, so i wasnt trying to F with the filler cap while moving

The gauges are pretty cheap. Do you think they'll work OK. I think I'll order the OT gauge also, then decide. Thanks.

What do you think the best gauge would be next to the Oil Pressure Gauge?

Going down the road a voltmeter might warn you that the battery is dieing; at worst that you'll be stalling soon.  Going down the road an oil temp gauge might warn you that the engine is dieing.  Engine?  Battery?  I know which one I'd choose to protect more.

Howie...the volt meter may seem useless, but all you have now is an idiot light.  When my regulator was going out, it never got low enough to make the light come on until it had cycled just below 12V serveral times.  The light seems to be triggered at about 11 to 11.5 volts, then it will set a code in the ECM.  The gauge helped me realize what was happening before it set the code.  Oil temp is a good thing to know, and I generally check it at every gas stop, but knowing what it is going down the road...I'm not sure that is extremely valuable information.  JMHO...

theres more options for voltage then O/P and O/T but the combo of the 2 Oil gauges tells you the most about overall health at a quick glance
