It went well, finally our first ride. The six speed is nice, but I could hear a noticible whine or whirrrring sound as I brought 1st gear up to 3800 and shifted into 2nd. I can get used to the sound - it is just different than the last bike, not necessarily worse.
This tranny was a bit smoother than the our 2005 5 speed. The bike overall has a smoother feel and very strong on the power. This was my first time ever riding a CVO 110, in fact, this is the biggest displacement bike I've ever ridden. My old bike was a 88 with a 95 kit, no cams, so I could feel the power even keeping her at 4000 and under. I kept the RPMS varied alot during the ride and shifted through all the gears continuously.
I felt more heat on the left side than the right and it is there, but tolerable. I will probably go to Progressive heavy duty 440's on the rear and dump the air shocks. But before I do, I'll bring 'em down to 0-5 PSI and see if they soften up the rear a bit - the wife thought the ride was a little bumpy. The bike needs to be broken in, it was a bit stiff all around.
No other issues - we love the bike and it ran great. I adjusted the gear levers to a more flat position, seems the Moco ships the levers in a "V" shape. I checked the rear cylinder, no leaks.
The XM Radio is awesome and the speakers sound just fine over the stock exhaust. The stock exhaust sound is quite acceptable and has enough sound to make it a "Harley" but not so much that it aggravates everyone around you. Besides, it's legal and the new mufflers look pretty cool.
My first accessory at the dealership today was a battery pigtail so I could use my plug in charger/trickle charger to keep up the battery when not in use. I think I'll also add the windshield trim piece to eliminate those three ugly black screws holding in the windshield. That spot is begging for a finish piece!

I am sure I'll add a doo-dad here and there, heck, that's half the fun of these beautiful motorcycles.
The bike is outstanding and I think a decent value when you consider all the stuff that comes on these bikes. The dealer had a regular 08 Ultra on the floor with a few accessories added for $25,500 before fees. The CVO is a pretty good deal when you add up what you get, plus it has some name recognition as well to add to the value and appeal.
So far so good. We'll be riding tomorrow. And for the many folks who asked, my father-in-law is doing better, thanks to all for your concern. And for those of you waiting for your bike, it will be well worth the wait, trust me, you are going to love this one...
