Ozarks Bikes, Blues, and BBQ
« on: October 13, 2007, 11:45:45 PM »

Just got back from an awesome trip to the Ozarks for Bikes Blues and BBQ.  What an great place to ride.  This is the second year that I have attended it, and it just gets better.  The curves and mountain (small mountain) roads are definitely made for bikes.  The rally is hosted in Fayetteville, but you'll want to ride the famous "Pig Trail" while there, as well as many of the other scenic byways.  All in all I put 1700 miles on the bike in 5 days.  No problems.

This year, in Eureka Springs, there was a corvette rally.  Corvettes and Bikes are definitely a match.

It was estimated that nearly 300000 thousand people attended BBBBQ, and upwards of 100000 motorcycles.  Next year it's the end of sept.  I will go again.   Cash  :2vrolijk_21:

Really glad you enjoyed our part of the world.  Living here, driving a cage, I used to cuss the roads.  Now, on the bike, I can't wait to get out and enjoy them!

Cash, I did 3 days in Eureka Springs the week before you were at BBBBQ.  Best riding between the Rockies and the Appalachians.  The Cat House Lounge (The bike stops here) was great fun.  Over 200 bikes of all kinds in the parking lot and a great bluegrass band.  If others go, look for the county roads (3 numbers or more).  Here's a sample of what we found while gliding around one of our day trips.  Imagine it like this:  you finish the curve and the ground opens up to reveal 5 of these structures.  I'm guessing 300' x 25'.  How many turkeys can that hold?  You have to investigate.  Bike off, helmet off, earplugs out.... And my god what a racket!  If these buildings hold 10,000 turkeys that's 50,000 turkeys talking to each other at the same time.  Un-freeking-believable.

While riding through the area I did notice Tyson, as well as tons of those coups.  Not a great smell.
