Howie, I received a brief e-mail from Barry on Tuesday of this week.  He did not report on Josh's progress, so I replied asking him to do so here in this thread whenever he gets a chance.  He did, however, mention how grateful he is for the contributions from the members here.  I don't think he will mind me quoting him: "My family and I are so greatful to the CVO guys for all they have done. I really could not be making it now...and keeping the bike...if it wasnt for all of you."

Thanks, our thoughts are with the entire family.

I also spoke with Barry the other night. He had a pretty ruff time the last few weeks. Was tired all the time and had a bad back along with quiting smoking. Medication was the culprit. He sounded like his old upbeat self last night. :2vrolijk_21:

This site has been a real Blessing to Barry, Karen, Josh, and the entire Heine family! I spoke with our little darling Jessica and asked her how Christmas was and she said it was the "Best Ever". In a time of sacrifice due to the circumstances, she understands what Christmas is all about! God Bless ya honey!

Those who continue to pray, your prayers are working. Josh has made some awesome progress but has a long road ahead of him. Those that want an update can check out this website and you can check the box to receive daily updates thru email. This will also help you know what to specifically pray for.

There is also a place to reply or sign his guest book. May I encourage you to do this. It encourages them and lets them know that their not in this alone.

Some have made contributions and it has always come at the right time! May I encourage you if you have been thinking about helping and haven't, you are missing out on a blessing. God Bless!!!

Thanks JR for your wonderful post.  And you are so right.  Barry and Karen are obviously fantastic parents, cause they have great children.

Friday I was eating lunch with Cornbread, father of Mikey who has the brain cancer. We were talking about how God has provided for them and how Mikey's cancer, which is an aggressive cancer, has not grown in 6 months. Cornbread was talking about how he views life know vs before Mikey's cancer. He was saying how Mikey has received Christmas cards from ham operators all over the world. I pointed out to Corny that there is no telling the amount of lives that were touched due to him acquiring this dreadful disease. Probably not until were in heaven will we see how God used this life threatening event for His glory. The bible says "All things work together for good for those who love God and are called together for His purpose". Same for Josh's injury. Look how many folks are praying every day and how it has changed the way some look at prayer, miracles, life, and maybe even God. He is so good and His love is perfect! Praise Him for His unfailing Love! Can I hear an Amen??? :huepfenlol2: WoooHooo! :2vrolijk_21:

Hey Mike, how's Kellie doing??? I'm still praying bro! God Bless!

JR,
My best to Josh, and a great big "'Atta Boy!", to him for layng down the "nails."  I laid 'em down on Sept. 16, 2000.  One of the toughest goals I have ever accomplished.  Brach's "Butterscotch Disc", and toothpicks helped me through, with a lot of prayer.  Mine and others, I'm sure.  Still want one sometimes, and even dream I have smoked sometimes.  Sure do feel better, and I know I smell better.  Keep up the good work.  :2vrolijk_21: Later--HUBBARD

I did this too when I quit, I'd get all bummed out dreaming I was smoking again, then I'd wake up!! Quit 24 years ago.

Don,

So good to have you back!  I wish that I was back...but I am not.
I have been so busy with all that is going on here at home and at Atlanta.
Josh is making good progress but it is taking longer than we thought. He has been starting to walk on a walker some. But his left side is still somewhat weak from the spine injury. I do look on the site from time to time and wish I had more time to get caught up with freinds.  This site mean so much to me and has helped me more than you guys could possibly know. We found out last week that Joshes elbow is still broke and considered chronic. He will have to have surgery on this in the next few weeks.  It has been hard being away from my wife but we both know it is for the best.

The donations from the website have helped beyond your imagination. I really couldnt of made it with help from my cvo brothers...

Thank you...and I will be back soon...and look forward to seeing so many of you again  at our CVO get-to-gethers!!

With all my love,

Barry
