We were blessed in MV with leaves still on the trees and no rain.  The roads could have easily looked like your picture and been slick as ice.

This is true. However we are getting rain here (slow steady rain) after a terrible drought this summer. As much as rain can spoil/deter a ride I'm not going to complain about it this time.

Gary...I think you guys are getting some of what we've had most of this week.  Not enough to make up the deficit here (20 inches), but it was a good slow soaker w/drizzle.  I didn't hear a soul complaining about the rain...

Those leaves, wet roads, and a motorcycle don't play well together...

Had some rain and snow here in the last two weeks, nice now, was near 70 yesterday. A month ago had snow on the way home from Salt Lake. There were a few bikes coming west, had to be cold, temps got up to the high 30's to low 40's!

We have experienced a terrible drought this year as well.  Won't complain about the rain either - we need it.  Sometimes, in the heat of a sweltering summer's day, a little rain is not so bad.  On cold, windy, blustery days, not so good.

One of my favorite fall ride views is to watch the leaves "sweeping" with the draft along the road behind a bike in front of me, or in the mirrors behind me......

I was in Salt Lake again this weekend on the way back Sunday morning there was a couple on a Fatboy with a windshield from Colorado heading East. It was 26 degrees, and didn't warm up for 70 miles, then it was only 36 degrees! Was 72 when I got home, I think they should have waited a few hours!!!!
