We took a ride the next day east from Mena.  This is a little antique shop we stopped at.

You know you are in Arkansas when you see one of these

When we made our way back to Mena, we stopped to eat at the Chopping Block.  This is a pic of my good friend Mike.  He gets this burger every year.  Do you think he can eat it all?

And Mike finishes it every year.  Took him about 20 minutes

Well, all good thing have to come to an end......We had to head back home Sunday afternoon.  It was 84 degrees when we left Mena.  We headed back west to Okla.  By the time we got home, a cold front came in and the temp. was about 50 degrees when we got to the house.

Great pics thanks for posting. That was one heck of a burger what's the weight on that thing, and is it one of those places if you can eat it all you get it free?

Great shots.  They also look very familiar as we just got back a couple of weeks ago from our road trip through most of the same roads.    The thread is on here if you have not already seen it, in the pictures section.

We could not see as well out of Mena as the cloud cover was intense, but very beautiful to see once you climbed out of them on the top of the hill.

Yes, I saw your pictures.  I especially liked the sunrise photo from the mountain with the clouds below the mountain tops....those two pics were awesome.
From the flat lands of east central Oklahoma, the Talimena (and surrounding area) is an awesome place to ride that is not too far away.
We are thinking about taking a trip to Eureka Springs in about three weeks (weather permitting).  As you know, we did not get to see all the changing leaves since it has been so warm.  Its cooling down now, so in a couple of weeks the leaves should be looking great.  Heading south from Eureka Springs, the Pig Trail is another awesome ride.

Reb I just love that ride it is just a beautiful peaceful ride... Looks likes you and your group had a great time... Some of the eaten places that one finds along the way is as good of find as the roads.

Let me know when you are goring to Eureka Springs as I might just meet you guys there.
