Chrome Headbolt Cover Bridge '08 FLHRSE4
« on: October 28, 2007, 10:57:13 PM »

Doesn't fit.
My Harley dealer was having a Halloween sale so I bought some goodies like fork lock cover (it fit), headbolt cover (doesn't fit) and the turn signal/brake light thing.
After getting about thirty percent into the install I realized that the Headbolt cover doesn't fit these '08's. Hmmm?
They do look nice on my '06 Fatboy, however.
Part number 43858-00 is the Headbolt cover kit.

It doesn't fit the '07 either.  I have one laying in the garage.  The rear fit okay, but it seemed the hole for the plug boot was way off on the front cylinder.

I didn't get that far with the rear one but it looked like it would be tight also just dry fitting it.
I would have really be po'ed if I had gotten the rear to fit then to find out the front was way off.
You would think tht Harley wouldn't show these as accessories for our bikes. It seems that some people on this site got the finned covers to fit.

This discussion leads to a question: Is there a list or catalog of available parts specific to the CVO's? If not, why the hell not? ???
Looks like HD would pay a little 'special' attention to folks who spent all this money with them and offer some 'special' stuff....

Yes you would think they would offer CVO specific catalogs and accessories like matching hardbags for our bikes.

When you go to the Harley site you can look for accessories specific to your bike. It obviously doesn't work the way they intended.

I believe the reason the head bolt covers do not fit is because the 110's have compression releases inside which offsets the spark plug hole (to make room).

The finned covers come in silver and black, not the new 08 SE engine color I believe.
