HUBBARD in Florida
« on: November 01, 2007, 09:16:52 PM »

Had lunch with Unbalanced in Deltona yesterday, and then proceeded to Lakeland for the last Race of the Hooters Championship series.  Tested the Car today, and lost the Motor 30 laps in.  Discouraged, I told the Team to load eveything on the Transporter, and we would head back to Mooresville, and pack it in for the season.  The Race Junkie that I am took over, and I sent one of my boys to Rochester, Indiana, to get another new Engine.  Hard to come all this way, and not even make the Race.  Decisions, decisions.  Anyway, looking forward to a good Race, ,and spending the day with Harry and Michelle.  Looking forward to a good Race.  Speed cost money, how fast do you want to go?  Later--HUBBARD

Your Honor,
We're tied in 18th place with Jay Fogleman.  That puts us 51 points out of 10th place.  We have a chance of accumalating 165 points if we win, lead one lap, and are leader at the halfway point, in the last Race in Lakeland, this weekend.  Wishful thinking, but we have to think we can accomplish that goal.  Been a tough year, to say the least.  We're moving our shop to Mooresville, NC, and have contracted Steve Bird, (Birdie), to manage our Team for the 2008 Season.  We have made a deal with Laughlin Performance to build us two new Race Cars, and made a deal with Gearte Engines to provide us with two new Gearte Engines, for the 2008 Season.  You can follow our progress on USAR Pro Cup.com, this weekend.  BLM 777 called and said he couldn't make the Race, but Harry (Unbalanced), and his wife Michelle will be there.  I hope Lady Luck smiles on us, as she has been absent our corner for most of the Season.  Wish us Luck, as we need all the help we can get.  Later--HUBBARD

Funny you should mention Laughlin Performance.  I went to school with Jerry and Mike Laughlin Sr.  MANY years ago!  Their dad had a garage here in Augusta where a lot of us learned how to go fast!
