Need some help from the collective genius of this site.  MOCO has graciously agreed to replace pleather tour pack on my 07 Jester.  Good news.  Right front corner on lower worn completed through to plastic.  Okay - so now I need to "remove" the Radiantz LED bar from the tour pack so I can reuse on the new one.  Any suggestions as to how to get the LED tube off without breaking it and then, what's the recommendation for reapplication - 3M auto adhesive tape, something else??
All ears - hate to have to buy another one.
TIA,
TC

I think you should be able to get it off by applying a little WD40 to the adhesive, letting it soak in, and running a length of fishing line between the pleather and the light strip.  You might have to heat it with a hair dryer........but I'd be wary of heat damage to the light strip.  When I removed the amber and red reflectors for the Sporty's forks and rear fender respectively, I soaked the adhesive with WD40, let it sit for an hour, and the fishing line slid through like butter with very little heat.  WD40, a rag, and very little elbow grease removed the remaining residue, which should also work on your light strip.  Then, just get some doubled sided pressure sensitive tape (3M) from NAPA, stick it on the light strip, trim it, and apply to the new TP.

Removal-Try fishing line to slide underneath and remove.

Install-3M double sided tape.

TCinVa-Reggab did a fine job in the R&R process (was typing while he was posting).  I do think Henry has stock in WD40 though    :)..

If by chance the WD40 doesn't work for you. There is another product at the auto parts store that works great. It comes in a can and is made by 3M it is a bug/glue remover (for bumper stickers etc.) and works good while not damageing the surface.
Also the 3M tape comes in different grades so be sure it say VHB for very high bond if you want the new tape to be permanent. (Usually has a red backing film.)

The 3M adhesive remover works great...I've had a tin can of it for years now and have used it on all kinds of surfaces without damage.

I got mine at a local auto paint supply store...

Thanks gents.  I've got the 3M adhevise remover as well.  Just wasn't sure how the material on the tour pack might react to it.  Since I'm getting a new one, I'll try in an inconspicuous spot to see what happens, then go for it.  Had thought about the fishing line as well, just wasn't sure it would work without a little help.
3M tape VHB - got it!
Thanks again.
