We put in a pellet stove a few years ago and love it. We use our garage as kind of a second living room so having heat is key.

Gotta love the polish living rooms!  I also have a tiki hut bar, fridge, stereo, table & chairs, chili pepper & palm tree lights, TV, a couple grills and as of about 3 hours ago my snow blower and generator from the shed.  I'll make room for cars around thanksgiving time.   :cherry:

Free, I'm sorry, I thought from all the ribbing we've been getting from the Bay Area members about how Great CA is, I'm surprised it could ever get cool enough to heat with a pellet stove.  I thought those poured off an enormous amount of heat?

I would think that if the pellet stove is not too much heat - it would give a cozy, dry heat - as opposed to some of the comments about non-vented heating.  We don't have an attached garage so we loose a lot of the heat that just radiates from the main dwelling into the bike home.  That's great that you can use your garage like a rumpus room.

Turned mine on for the first time since last winter. I got a Beacon Morris 75,000 btu garage heater from Menards. Had it for two years now and it will heat up the garage and maintain in no time. Quiet and easy on gas. More info.

Heres a copy of the Menards flyer showing the two car, three car units (good till 11/11/07)

I set-up a unit that circulates the hot water that is just sitting in my hot water heater through a coil and fan unit.  Connected a programmable thermostat and it raises the temp automatically in the evening and weekends.  Works great!!

That one looks identical to the Modine Hot Dawg propane heater that we use. Works great!
