Still waiting for my coppertop, but stopped by another dealer just to check if they had one available that might be coming sooner than mine.  Answer: no!  But the salesman then asks, "would you like to see serial #1" - My response is, naturally, "hell yeah!"  We proceed to a remote storage area at Hal's Harley in New Berlin, Wisconsin. I saw the badge for myself - "0001"  - I couldn't believe my eyes.  The salesman said Harley will probably take the last of the limited edition bikes for museum purposes, but made the early ones available to the public.  Well...almost the public.  The purchaser is a high ranking employee at the Motor Company.  Tried taking a pic with my cell phone camera, but it didn't turn out...missed opportunity since I think the guy is taking delivery this weekend.  One thing that struck me about the bike seeing it in person is how much gold leafing there is in the paint job.  Although I am partial to red (I'm keeping my cherry), this is a pretty cool paint theme and now I really can't wait to get mine - even if it's in the dead of Wisconsin winter.  PJ

Well that could turn out to be poetic justice.  We can only hope the rear cylinder head starts puking oil very soon after delivery - so at least one High Ranking MOCO employee understands the problem as much as we do...

It has to be ridden for that to happen. More then likely this guy is buying for show and not to ride.

There are several pix of serial #1 on motorcycleusa.com, apparently it was used as the advanced "press" bike for the media to test for their articles back in June and July.
