Tourpack Relocation
« on: March 16, 2005, 05:50:14 PM »

I need to move the tourpack back 2" to get more room for the passanger.
I found a kit at the Harley shop to do this with a perminate mounted trunk but nothing for the quick release version.
Anyone done this to there bike ? I`m looking for some ideas.  [smiley=idea2.gif]
Thanks,
Dave

It appears that Harley doesn't follow their own instructions.  The service manual specifically states that the REAR holes are to be used to mount the Pak; mine came mounted to the front holes.  Moving it picked up slightly more than an inch, which definitely helped the comfort level for momma.

The rear holes would have the tour pak farther forward.  If you gained space you moved the bolts to the front holes (which would move the tour pak back).  It's the rack's holes that are fixed, the pak is moving back and forth.

If there were 2 sets of holes in the TOURPAK and you used the rearmost holes then the tourpak would move forward.
But if you use the rearmost holes on the TOURPAK RACK, the tourpak will indeed be moved rearward.
I found that there is actually room to drill another set of holes behind the rearmost holes so that you can gain yet another inch or so of passenger room. Which the wife greatly appreciates.[smiley=beerchug.gif]

Sorry for the confusion - I should have said move the tour-pak to the rear holes on the detachable bracket.  This illustration shows it more clearly.

Our brake pedal is an issue with some pipes.  Be sure and ask.

Magoo must have missed the memo.  All threads will eventually touch on either Freedom Exhaust or Maggie Valley.  They just do  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Just to make sure we stay on the appropriate topic (Maggie Valley), I just had a client come through that was named Maggie, and the Valley was most distracting...  Am I still in the right thread?
