Well that explains it. When I saw the photo I thought to myself "man, that looks just like the one that Van sold to me". Now your story is sounding more like my first Corbin experience.
Corbin borrowed my bike for a week to mold the seat pan for SEEGs. As compensation, they have me the seat of my choice (for those who are newer here and haven't saw it, here's a link to a slide show showing the seat being made
http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=12&uid=912505&gid=4000502& ).
I think I put about 40 miles on that seat and the ex wife said "it's to hard, it's got to go". I didn't argue......it was very hard to the touch, so I sold it. But down the road (after she was gone) Van had his for sale and he offered to let me try it before I bought it. I put it on the bike just before our ocean to ocean ride eighteen months ago. I was into that ride four or five days (all day long in the saddle) when I realized "oh wow, my butt hasn't hurt, stung or itched and we've already covered several thousand miles".
To make a long story short.........with five other seats hanging in the garage, that Corbin hasn't been off of my bike since I put it on.
I can't explain.......as hard as it is to the touch, why it can be so comfortable mile after mile after mile, hour after hour after hour. I don't know. But what I do know is it is the most comfortable seat I ever rode on. And, the fact that Corbin looks better on a SEEG than any other seat doesn't hurt, either.
