Rear cylinder oil leak, and other defects...
« on: November 17, 2007, 04:58:23 PM »

Mine has now 10,000km (6,200miles), and rear cylinder leaking oil from gasket between cylinder and head. Tucson Harley dealer report to factory and will send new cylinder, rings and gaskets, only for rear side. Factory told them uneven machined cylinder surface, so revised new cylinder is on the way. The problem is that I want both cylinders replaced, because could be same idiot that machined same cylinder batch or engine assembly, but Harley only authorized rear side. Also right saddlebag power lock actuator and heated handgrips problems. Parts coming also. I hear like pinging or knocking noise at front, specially at part throttle, but I think is normal  acoustical effect from front fairing design and natural mechanical noises. (I hope I'm right). Also, above 90mph and in curves at lower speeds the bike makes a "side swinging" something like a snake motion. Tires pressure is right (36 front, 40 rear).  I think $40,000 is too much money for poor quality control. Also missing garage door opener kit (both, transmitter and receiver) and XM module, try some dealers and don't solve problem about that missing accesories that my owner's manual says it comes with. May be I'm wrong, or unafortunately I'm not. What do you think, amigos?

Good morning jgandara,

You've a HDI (International) model.
This model is delivered without XM module, garage door opener kit.

But you've the leak and it's normal !  8)
It's include on all models all around the world, it's not an option.
