paint on 07 CVO Roadking candy colbalt blue

     was thinking about a set of hard  saddlebags  for this 
Roadking but i think it may be a problem to get the paint to match.. anyone know of the paint codes or other info that may be of benifit??  it seems from what i have learned so far its  going to be tuff to get it to be a close match on the paint?  any ideas?

Hey happyman, try this guy: http://www.paintbygene.com/

He did the hard bags on my B/I '07 SERK. He matched them up perfectly, and he's done the CACO Blue too already too. He's doing my King TourPak also.

There are others in that thread too. Some guys used other painters. They can be matched without a problem.

Thanks a lot for that info.. around here  nobody wants to take the  chance because they don't have the codes. they say they can get close but   what is close.     may i ask  what it sets a person back to get the bags painted??  i see one pic of a  cvo like mine with some nice graphics too for a match to the rest of the bike which is the   07 candy cobalt blue with the graphics  it is  pretty much what i want for sure..  Thanks

The prices were all over the place. Most paid more than Paint By Gene charged. I shipped my stuff to WA. I don't remember what I paid, but it was well worth it. Gene's a great guy. He'll talk to you and understand what you want. He's familiar with this site too, and gives us great prices. PM some of the other guys. Trailer4E and DocPoof come to mind on CACO hard bags. Neither used Gene from what I remember though.

Does the  painter also have the  ability to do graphics like the  07 Roadkig CVO has and match the candy colbalt blue ..

Happy, just a word of advice since you're relatively new here.  Hoist is pretty tight lipped about his work on the bike.  Don't take it personally if he doesn't tell you much ::) .

Yeah, I'm pretty tight-lipped, huh? ::)

He matched the CACO perfectly too from wht I understand. I'm very happy with mine on the B/I. He doesn't use leafing. He does the flames in paint, but you can't tell. For the $$$, you can't be beat it. And you get rid of them oversized leather glove compartments too! ;)

Hoist  i appreciate the info  i  am going to try to get ahold of the person that did your paint i believe.. don't matter what color the saddlebags are now does it.   oh yeah i have bee a member of this site for a few years my puter crashed so i never remembered my password name and the rest.. i mostly befroe that  just looked at the  site now and again.. Been riding for a lot of years ahd lots  of metrics  vrit bikes and 17 new harleys in my day  am getting where it hurts to ride but i still like it so am gonna stay with it..  also doing a build as we speak too .. should be a nice  runner  when i finish the tune. then its  too cold to do  any riding..  anyway thanks again

               Hoist,
If a person decides to do the paint  do  we take off all the  latches  and other hardware??  i guess all the fasteners will work  again ??    anyway thanks again                                   Happy

Good to see ya come out and and join us happy! The starting color doesn't matter. Gene will strip them. Mine were '03 Gold SERK Bags. Mine had no hardware with them. Gene completely assembled everything after he painted them. You can send them assembled, he'll strip them down, then reassemble them after painting. Tell Gene you're from this site, and that I recommended you to him. He'll take good care of you, and won't even charge you extra because you told him you know me! ::) ;D

Hoist broke the ground for many of us going to hard bags. I don't have mine back yet - don't get in a hurry if you use Gene, but I'm expecting them to be beautiful based on what I've seen.

Call Gene, talk to Pam, they'll take care of you. But, again, don't rush them. Excellent work takes a little time. Expect it to take about 2 months.
