Another Zippers Tech Question.
« on: November 27, 2007, 06:53:18 PM »

Thanks to Rednectum, I was able to give Zippers the firmware version and release date in the ECM that they asked for.
Now Zippers wants me to disconnect the closed loop module, take the ECM out of closed loop and continue testing.

Please tell me if this order is correct.

1. Keep bike off.
2. Pull sidecover and disconnect the closed loop plug from the FI harness.
3. Hook up and link up.
4. Go to "Configure", drop down to "Closed Loop Module Settings" and open the window.
5. Uncheck the boxes "(Module) Closed Loop Settings", and "(Map) Closed Loop Settings".

Did I get that right?

i would remove and plug the 02 sensors if running open loop. just to make sure you dont harm or foul them, other than that, you are on track.

I did everything but remove the O2 sensors, as I have nothing to plug the holes. Yet, when the bike is running in MONITOR mode, I still get moving and flutuating AFR readings front and rear! How is this happening?

Should not the unplugged module, and the unchecked programming have by now disabled the closed loop system kicking back into open loop? If so, why do the sensors behave like they are reading?

Don't you have to tell the actual map it's an open loop map...

Configure - Closed Loop Module Settings - uncheck closed loop map box
