Just a scratch or gouge?  Nothing busted? And you're not paying for it?  There's real stuff out there to worry about; that doesn't even register.  Have fun with the bike.  Glad you got it home finally.  Put a coat of wax on that replacement bag in six or eight weeks :drink: :2vrolijk_21: .

That's the plan Don.  Small in the greater scheme of things for sure.  We get cars all the time that need transportation stuff repaired.  At least with a bag I can get factory paint. :bananarock:

Roger,

So glad that the Nanner is coming home tommorrow!  Sorry to hear about the little mishap, but glad to see that you are taking it in stride.  Anxious to see those pictures of you with your new to you bike!  Seems like forever since the day Chip and I picked it up.  Long time coming for sure, but a little dissappointed that you didn't take advantage of the proximity to Copperhead for the GTG at the end of this month.  Really was looking forward to meeting you and seeing that smile on your face with the Nanner all prepped for the mountain with the AK-20's in place.  Enjoy the new ride and keep us posted!

Keep well,
Craig

OK gang, it's a good news/bad news day in the Great Northwest.

First the good news is the Nanner will be here tomorrow...............the bad news is the dispatcher for HogHaulers (Debbie) called in a panic today and spoke to my GM.

It seems that when they got to the base in Portland there was a truck coming north so they were putting the nanner on that truck.

As I understand it when they undid the tension on one of the tie downs..................snap :nixweiss:

Evidently it took out the side of a saddlebag, leaving a big scratch.  She's devastated (me not so much).

Sure I'm disappointed, but I can't let the mishap spoil th excitement of getting the bike here.

Thank goodness it was a bag and not the tank or something.  So I'll be ordering a bag evidently :(

For now it just matches the SEUC with the Nelson scratch somebody put in it. :bananarock:

Roger
Mind you, this is just my $0.02, but were I you, and the damage is only on the surface (nothing broken through the ABS) I'd be more inclined to take the bag to a quality painter and have it repaired so the color match is perfect. Ordering a new bag from the MoCo could give you something a shade darker. You're talking a 3 year old vehicle that has to have some effect of sun etc on the paint color. Maybe only a 1/10th of a shade lighter, but nonetheless noticeable if you buy a brand new bag. Anyway, I am sorry to hear this as I remember when you bought the bike I was really impressed with the overall condition.

Just my $0.02 as I said.

Hope that saddlebag wasn't the side with the cover in it.
Check it carefully, they might have used the cover to clean up the mess.
Maybe insurance will buy a new cover also!

I know I'll be missing the CHL trip when it happens, but timing this year didn't work out.

I have a big trip in the back of my mind for the future so maybe down the road I'll hit the southern swing and up the right coast.

Thanks again for the help on the bike, you and Chip went well beyond to do that. :2vrolijk_21:

Point taken B B.  I thought about my yellow Donzi and how well it held up to the sun.  I think I'll most likely get a complete bag and lid so they match and if it is off from sun fading, I can alway go for the painter.

Paint by Gene is right down the road and he is really good.

I haven't seen the scratch, so when the bike arrives I'll check it out and make a plan.

I hadn't thought about the insurance angle on a new cover Chip, quick thinking on your part.  :bananarock:

Too bad about the nick on the bag but looks like it should be an easy fix.  Nice bike Rog.

Thanks Chris, I think I'll take it to Sedona, just have to make sure with the BSR.  She likes the SEUC goodies that won't make it to the nanner.

Congratulations Roger.  Wow - it is finally home, what a long trip.  I know you are very happy.  Look forward to seeing it in Sedona.  How many nanners will that be?

Rog, glad to see the Nanner finally made it home.  Sorry to hear about the bag and I'm sorry it didn't work out for you to join us at CHL.
