« on: December 01, 2007, 06:32:46 PM »

Barn fresh 1964 Triumph Bonneville. Just acquired today, will haul home tomorrow.
May need some assistance from the Brit guys on this forum to get parts and suggestions.
Going to try and get her on the road next year.

Bud,
See if you can find Doc John's Motorcycle's or something like that in Carson City Nevada. The guy you're looking for is John Hoy. He owned a shop called RPM Cycles for many years in National City CA, right at the 8th St. entrance to NAVSTA San Diego. He had a huge inventory of Brit Bike parts he sold when he sold the shop. The buyer of those parts would be who you're looking for as John told me they were the largest in the business. Getting parts from ye olde countrie to here could be pricy.

And congrats on the find.

Hey guys, thanks for info on firstkick and doc john's. I found info on both places and will be contacting them.
I am pretty excited as my first big bike was a Bonney chopper.
This particular bike belonged to a good friend who I rode with back in the early 70's when I had my chopper. He has not rode it for 15 years or so. I have bugged him for years to sell.
I saw and talked to him the other day and bugged him again. He finally said "come and get it". I did not hesitate. The rest is history. Will pick her, "Lilly" up today. More pics to follow.
If anyone has info or parts for this particular model, let me know, as it needs a few things. Speedo, tach,  handle bars ect to start process toward total restoration.

 Thanks again----------Bud  ;D ;D ;D

Yes-----I can't wait to get started.
I have ordered manual for this particular model and as soon as it gets here I will be ordering a few parts, changing fluids and see if I can get her to fire up.
I have found website, forum similar to this one with some great guys just like you all. Even had one real nice guy offer me $350 bucks for it already.--------------NOT
Stay tuned.
