Morning,
This is quite a site. Nice to know there are ways to get the word out and fellow bikers can help. It has not been even 6 months yet since the accident, an through the power of prayer I am ( for part of the day) on my leg and can act (somewhat) and look normal. OKAY, I wasn't real normal before but I tried!!
My faith has and is getting me through this and will continue to bring me friends like you. It is a real test of your self and your faith somedays. I just hope to honor our God and be a good steward to him and let others know what he can do. I am here only because of him and thank him daily.
On my bike I road to the Grand canyon, Milwaukee and of course Sturgis and then my great trip right before the accident so I have lots of memories to keep me company. I have quit crying ( for the most part) when I talk about my bike but the other day I was brought my stuff I had in my saddle bags and cried over a board I got at a rally as a kick stand rest. Crazy isn't it. That bike was one of my best friends and I miss her so much.
When I realize I had my right leg gone and left one left I was excited because I realize I had the strong one left to help pull the bike up! YIPPEE! My family thinks I am crazy but expect nothing less.
When the chains broke on the load the semi was carrying it swung off and around so if I had been sitting in a low car it would have just crushed me. This way it just rolled me and my bike along and got my legs. Nothing else on me was hurt. My left knee was full of sand, cigarette butt and dirt and they thought I would loose it too. Once again the Docs were amazed that it missed all major arteries and muscles. It took many, many stitches to close it but it is mending well. I can now tell you the weather by it tho! And of course my helmet saved my head. It cracked it all the way thro behind my left ear. I one thing I kept aaying to people was it is jsut a leg... I am still here to bug you another day!!!!
 Resting in Grace-

So nice to hear that you are still here to share what happened and that you have not lost faith. Determination !!! That is what will have you riding again. So many people let this slip away and thats what keeps them from reaching there goals. Keep the faith and the hard work as well, and we look forward to hearing from you. Take care!!

Bluesgal...so great that you are mending well.  Your story is inspirational, and your determination to ride again is admirable, to say the least.  Keep working at it and before you know it, you'll be back in the wind with your friends.  Hope you hang around here some and we get to meet you at some point down the road.  Wishing you a full and speedy recovery...Terry

Lu

First, welcome to the site and thank you google for bringing bluesgal to our CVO family fold!

You are an inspiration of what faith and an incredible attitude can accomplish! I'm thankful that you are on the mend and the growth that has shown your character is one of strength and optimism!! So very sorry about the loss of your leg and your "best friend" that was your bike.

It's an honor and a  pleasure to meet you here and hopefully one day in the future at one of our many gatherings!

Take care, keep the faith and hope your new dream bike is with you in the near future!

Hi everyone.
I googled my self and found out that I was on this site. I am not sure who did it but Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers.

Lu, I noticed in the original post you didn't see who posted the original info on your accident.  It was hdchic07 and she is in your HOG chapter or at least the one you were with on that day.

Here's her profile link, in case you would like to PM her. www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?action=profile;u=3876

Sister, welcome to the site.  The Lord has a plan for you!  We wonder why things happen to us sometimes, but you're a testament to his love and source of fulfilling strength.  You'll be a testimony to others and what he has done for you.  As a reminder to the rest of us, life is too short not to do the things we love and to say the things we mean.  Enjoy our bikes and look out for the others!!

Bluesgal,

Welcome from Oklahoma.  Glad to have you become part of this family.

Glad to hear that you are on the mend and determined (I think I would be the same way).  Your determination and faith in God is a testimony that is and will touch many people for sure!

You mentioned CMA in your first post in this thread...are you a CMA member?

I will pray that God will continue to give you comfort, peace, and determination as you continue to heal.  Please chime in with progress reports when possible.  I look forward to the day that you can let us know that you are back on the road.

May God richly bless you,

Hello,
I am in CMA. I love the group and that is who I was riding with that day. There was 5 of us and I was in the middle. We had decided to take the long way home as it was so beautiful that day ( June 9th). I drive by the place we gassed up and decided to change the route on my way to therapy and wonder why God lead us to go home that way. I don't dwell on it by it does pass through my head.
I am in HOG and on the board and have held office in ABATE. All of the group came together and gave me a benefit to help with the bills. They are alot of my best friends and I just love em.
I hope to be back to work in Feb or March. This will help me too.
 Peace Lu

Blusgal welcome to the forum.

I'm very sorry to hear about your accident.  It does bring back a lot of memories for me......I had a bad accident three years ago.  By the way, I have a friend that has an artificial leg, that rides......so there is hope. :2vrolijk_21:  Your attitude as well as your faith is inspirational.

I hope that your username is because you like blues music and not because you're blue.  I seek out the live blues clubs where ever I travel to.....gotta have the blues.  Those that I ride with are used to it.

Anyway, I wish you a speedy recovery and I pray to God that this accident doesn't impede you from being all that you can be and all that you'd like to do. :2vrolijk_21:
