That's about the right time to stop anyway.  At least for me it is.  No matter what seat I'm riding on, my body tells me I have to get off and stretch about every 110-120 miles...Chuck and I would get along riding just perfectly then. :)

yeah, it stinks having to stop every hour, huh?! ::) ;D ;D ;D

I've ridden w/ Chief. He stops every 110 miles no matter what. He doesn't like that little yellow light.

Notice I didn't say over how long. If that tank smells like less than 1/2 a tank he refills.

Howie,
That would be your average, not mine.  :D :D :D  It would take me about 90 mins to go 110 miles, not an hour.  I think that's just about what you did Skyline Drive in wasn't it?  Fastest I've ever seen anyone do that run.  :nervous: :huepfenlol2:

Howie and I both left on a trip at the same time and both arrived at the same time. I was the day after though.

As already stated it is the remaining miles on the tank, but to give you a little FYI on it - It calculates the current usage and adjusts the remaining estimate so just because it says R190 doesn't mean you can go 190.  It will go down faster if you're hard on the throttle and go 100 miles in hour (We must ride together sometime Howie.  ;D  I have to see if I can keep up!).  If you ride easy on the throttle it will actually go longer.  I've had it start at 200 after filling up and then go up to 230.

Oh yeah... At 10 miles left it stops counting.  It just says "LO".  I think they should add "AN" so it spell "LOAN."  Cuase ya need one to fill these six gallon tanks when it get's that far down.  It's accurate.  When Mine said LO I put 5.85 gallons in.

And Chief doesn't like the yellow light?  Wow, I use mine to read the display on the radio at night since it's so dim.   :huepfenlol2:

I have a 120-130 mile bladder.  Gotta stop about then to fill the tank and empty the other.

Thanks for invite!  I've been look a that post and really am hoping to attend.  I'm waiting to see how the funds are doing before I commit to going.  The wife, kid and I are already committed to going to the 105th events in August in Milwaukee so I have to make sure I have enough to cover that plus extra oil for when Nemo starts leaking.

You've got a good sense of humor about our 110 issues J! ;D ;D ;D

Since the Rally's only 3 days long, maybe you can ride up this way, and you can join Rich and I heading up on Fri. We'll be home Sun nite. Surely you can squeeze 1 day off for this! ::)

I had the V-Rod on a spin while in florida over the Thanksgiving holidays. I turned around on a long, wide 4 lane stretch of highway to head back. I looked ahead and there was not a car in sight. The gauge said r-49. I got it rolling, and twisted the throttle hard accellerating to over 100 MPH just as I was shifting into 4th. I let off the accelerator and looked down to see r-25. Ok, that was about a gallon of fuel.

Lets see price of a gallon of fuel $3.25, smile on your face as you accelerated to triple digits.... priceless.
