HI GUYS.  I WANT TO DO A WINTER PROJECT AND CHANGE OUT MY LEATHER TOUR PACK TO A FIBERGLASS ONE.  I NEED A PAINTER THAT HAS ALREADY DONE THIS FOR A RED JESTER SO HE WILL HAVE THE PAINT CODES.  COULD SOMEONE PLEASE SEND ME A LIST OF PART NUMBERS AND A PAINTER THAT THEY LIKE.  THANKS,  SCOTT

THE PAINTER THAT DID MY BROTHERS CHANGED JOBS I CAN ASK HIM IF HE STILL UP FOR PAINTING THEM.THE RED IS A PPG VIBRANCE COLOR WITH SOME KIND OF FIRE GOLD BASE COAT AND THAT IS THE OVERSPRAY COLOR ALSO.IF YOU GO TO A PPG STORE AND LOOK AT VIBRANCE CHIPS THE RED IS A REAL MATCH WITH A FIRE SOMETHING GOLD BASE. THE BLACK HE DID WAS AVIVID BLACK WITH A TOUCH OF SILVER METALIC IN IT.  IF HE SAYS HE UP FOR IT I'LL SEND YAH HIS NUMBER. GOOD LUCK JDO

I too am changing my tour pak to a new plastic or whatever they are made out of now.  I just bought a take off from an '08 ultra.  I find it incomprehensible that HD will not give out the correct paint codes to those of us who spent a rather large sum of money on a bike with an overweight and smaller crappy leather tour pak, especially being as now they have seen the error of their ways and are only making the new ones without the crappy leather tour pak.  It is good to know that the paint is PPG.  By the way I called the guy in Ohio and he never returned my call so I guess he is not interested in painting more of them.

Maybe he could just be out for Christmas......a lot of people still travel and are away for awhile this time of year.    spyder

I wonder if you can get the center emblem in "Screamin' Eagle" that the '08s come with?  That would be REAL sweet and make it look like it just meant to be....  I've seen a couple pictures here of them.

                                                                           The ohio guy's wife had surgery and he has to help with lil ones till wife gets back on her feet.He said he would help with color matchs.He also said he would let me know when he could paint again.    Thanks jdo

I don't believe the backrest from the leather tour pak will fit a standard tour pak.  It's not wide enough.  I believe you'll have to order one for the fiberglass tour pak.

thanks...most excellent...I did call a couple of months ago and left my home number and cell.  I will get in touch with him after you post he is available again.  I really like what he did with the red jester he already painted.  You need a new backrest...it is 249.95 from HD...I just ordered one on the 22nd of this month.
