Are you a Democrat, a Republican, or a Southerner?
« on: December 19, 2007, 08:49:12 AM »

Are you a Democrat, a Republican, or a Southerner?

Here is a little test that will help you decide.

The answer can be found by posing the following question:

You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children.  Suddenly, an Islamic Terrorist with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you,  screams obscenities, praises Allah, raises the knife, and charges at you.

You are carrying a Kimber 1911 cal. 45 ACP, and you are an expert shot.  You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do?

Democrat's Answer :

Well, that's not enough information to answer the question!
Does the man look poor or oppressed?
Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack?
Could we run away?
What does my wife think?
What about the kids?
Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock  the knife out of his hand?
What does the law say about this situation?
Does the Glock have appropriate safety built into it?
Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind  of message does this send to society and to my children?
Does he definitely want to kil l me, or would he be  content just to wound me?

If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my  family get away while he was stabbing me?
Should I call 9-1-1 ?
Why is this street so deserted?
We need to raise taxes, paint and  make this a happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior.
This is all so confusing!  I need to debate this with some friends for few days and try to come to a consensus.

Republican's Answer:

BANG!

Southerner's Answer:

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
Click..... (Sounds of reloading)
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

Daughter: "Nice grouping, Daddy! Were those the Winchester Silver Tips or Hollow Points?"
Son: "Daddy, Can I shoot the next one?"
Wife: "You ain't taking that to the Taxidermist!"

Good Morning, Traxxion upgrade is great, just wish I had more time to enjoy the benefits. Still need to do a little bit of tuning as I haven't adjusted the preload, but even without, the ride is exceptional. So how is the new paint job coming along? I was sorry to hear about your mishap, but hey the paint job of your dreams  may make it all worth while. Hope so anyway. Hope ya'll have a great Christmas. My best, jj.

Glad to hear you're liking the changes.  ;D  We'll get the bike back together someday. The weather isn't great, so I'm not missing out on much.

Merry Christmas to you too.

To All My Democrat Friends:
Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2008, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere . Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of
the wishee.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

To My Republican Friends:

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Sad but true. Heard a commercial for Visa on the way to work this morning. The commercial is built around "The Twelve Days of Christmas" song. In the commercial, they talk about buying "Holiday Gifts", not "Christmas Gifts". It's pretty sad I think. How much more sterile can we make it?

I can see it coming in the not-so-distant future that young children will no longer be allowed to experience the joy of Christmas as we did growing up. It really is sad that this is happening. No one wins and the children are the ones losing the most, and what good comes out of it? None!

Sad, really sad.

Merry Christmas y'all, what's left of it.

What Chip said :huepfenlol2:  There may be more southerers here than dems or republicans. :bananarock:

I know some northerners who are southerners at heart - especially when it involves defending oneself  :2vrolijk_21:

I live in a area that has tried mightily to sterilize Christmas, & so far they have succeeded in renaming many things 'Winter Holiday'.  Rather ridiculous and exclusionary although they like to pretend it's the opposite of that.

I guess we should count our blessings now, if Nancy Pillousy and the democrats have their way not only can we not wish anyone a Merry Christmas but we would have to say Happy Winter Holiday in Spanish or French.

Not real sure how we got to Christmas on this thread, but here is my .02 on Christmas:

Buying & Giving gifts is all good & well.  I buy (too much) and give.  We spend time with family & friends.  The Christmas season is a great time.  However, I make no bones about it >> I am a Christian and CHRISTmas it the time that I celebrate the birth of my Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.  CHRISTmas is one of the times that I think God for sending His only Son here to Earth because He loves me.

For those that are intolerent when it comes to Christmas, it's not that someone is giving a gift, but what a Christmas Tree or the Cross represents (BTW, this country, the United States of America, was founded as "One Nation Under God").

Now the last I noticed, I don't remember seeing Christians standing out next to the street in front of their church dragging non-Christians out of their cars and into the church.  And, I don't recall hearing of any legislation anywhere in these United States of America requiring anyone to celebrate Christmas.

I am not intolerant >> If someone wants to be muslim, atheist, or otherwise, fine...that's their choice.  IMO, those that hate Christmas need to remember where they are.  If they don't like our values & traditions, I can suggest other countries that they might like better.
Merry CHRISTmas
