If you did, what part no. did you buy (spun aluminum to match the other gauges) and more importanly, did you need that extra kit (around $50-60) to do it?

DD, the thread Dood cited is a long one. Lots of give and take. The executive summary would be:
1) Spun Aluminum gauge from Harley is a close but not an exact visual match. Subtle differences even I stopped worrying about.
2) If you install it for god's sake do not install it as the Harley instructions tell you to.
3) Install as follows:
a) Remove plug from oil pan next to oil drain plug regularly used to change oil.
b) Get a brass bushing to reduce from that hole down to the sending unit and screw the sending unit in there.
c) There is a two wire harness that plugs in to the sensor, sensor feed and ground. Route it back to the new gauge making the ground connection in route.
d) At the guage use the existing power and light connections and simply leave the air temp sensor plug disconnected.
