Pulvs1-
Happy you will be a CVO owner soon.  Living in Wisconsin, the warranty may be up before you can ride it.   :(   On my 05, the MOCO made out on the std 2 year warranty as they only had to replace the tour pack light and the rear rocker box gasket during that period.  I don't believe you need a warranty on a 103, but that's just me.  If you do get the extended warranty, the 3 year deal is much better than the two (if they are like to like in what they cover).
Good luck.

Well, I can definately say an extended warrenty is good on a 103 as I have have two 103's blow up due to bad cam bearings.. The first motor went at 27.7K and it just went again at 50K. I've also had the stator go out, and had a bad exhaust valve guide.. No motor is bullet proof..

Have not heard of this one before (other than the early TC motors).  Cam Bearings?

There's been a few motors taken out by Cam Chain Tensioning shoes, but it's been a while since I've heard of the bearings going bad.

Dauum Tank.... :nervous:  Glad I got the extended warranty too.  Have you considered paying them the difference and getting the new Screamin' Eagle Billet cam plate/oil pump assembly?  It's not real expensive and from all reports, a nice piece.

What all got torn up with the cam bearing failure?

Tank, kinda feel your pain.  Under warranty, my husband had the stator go, his wheels replaced, his floor boards replaced, I've had my engine rebuilt and a couple of dollars shared for the expense of towing and hotel stays.  Is the warranty worth it for the 103s.  I think it may be.  We still have to go back into the dealer when we are ready for the fight to get husband a new stereo, and new floorboards again.  Your right, I guess nothing is bullet proof.  Sorry though, that you have had two engine failures.

A low-mileage '06 SEUC is going to command a top dollar.  Their asking price for the SEUC and the trade-in value they're giving you on your 75,000 mile '98 both seem reasonable to me.  Like Boatman said, though, it wouldn't hurt to tell them you'll take it for $20,000 out the door and see what they say. :nixweiss:  But if they don't go for it, and the bike is as nice as a 1,600 mile bike should be, I wouldn't sweat it if the SEUC is really what you want.
Good luck and let us know how it works out!

Hey there Brian, How ya doin?

I found this bike for Pulvs1 (Scott) at HAl's HD in New Berlin. It was off the showroom floor way in the back. The cool thing about this bike is, the previous owner is Jim Zeimmer! The CEO of HD! He just traded it in on an '08 CVO Ultra.

Scott's picking it up the haze today....

I just might go over there before he signs the papers to give the salesman a hard time  :huepfenlol2: ;D

Take care,

Mark

Cool, Mark! :2vrolijk_21:  Who was it that was saying they saw new his '08 SEUC there awhile back?  pj57 maybe?  Anyway, tThat will be pretty cool to have a CEO's former bike.  That's some history right there! :shocked2: :shocked2: :shocked2:

That would be correct and if memory serves me right Zeimmer purchased a "Duracell" SEUC3.
