One of our local Dago county dealers is having a sale on 2008 models. Some good discounts.

Too much production from the MoCo flooding the showroom floor perhaps ?

What's happening in your areas ?

B B

To much production at a time they have cut production is not a good sign for the company or investors.  But, yes...some dealers in this area are discounting 08's - which has never happened to the best of my memory!

One of the local dealers here was offering up to $1000 off on '08s.  This dealership has always sold at MSRP.  This was going on before Christmas, don't know if they're still offering it now.

When I was buying "Big Red" last week, I was b.s.-ing with the Sales Manager. He stated it has been very slow for them since Thanksgiving.  This is a store that is in the top 10 of retail sales for the MoCo and they have more than enough bikes to last them.  He also stated they (moco) will be coming to market with some special APR on the anniversary edition bikes. :o  After their production cuts, sales are still slow. They may have more gimmicks up their sleeve.

You can almost be assured something will happen as I bought mine already :'(  My timing is always off on these types of purchases ;D

I wouldn't be too concerned for the MoCo...this has been a bad retail year for everyone.  When the housing market "bit the big one", the retail world followed up behind it.  There has been reports that this was one of the lowest spending holiday seasons in recent history.  It's not surprising, when things look a little dismal, people start stuffing their mattresses with money and don't spend it.  It'll all turn around.

This thread would be more useful if in addition to the specifics of the deals, there was an ID of the dealerships, and who to contact, were set forth in the posts.  A prospective buyer might even give credit to the CVO Harley website as the referral source.

I wish I was in the market.

In my area, there appears to be a glut of 08 bikes & the MoCos production shutdown was needed.

Most are at MSRP from what I have seen with rumors of discounted interest rates.

In Tallahassee, FL there is a spanking new SERK for MSRP - so far not spoken for.

See the link in my previous post. It contains dealership names and in some cases names to talk to.

Waugh HD in Orange, VA is now offering up to a $1000 gift certificate with the purchase of any '08 HD.  So that's a good deal as they've always been an MSRP dealership.
