Color Name Change
« on: January 01, 2008, 11:40:34 AM »

Happy New Year!!

Does anyone know why the MOCO has changed the name on the '08 Duracell paint to Anniversary Copper/Vivid black from Crystal Copper/Black Onyx?  I noticed it today while browsing the H-D site to see if there was anything new about the SEUC's since I'm still waiting for mine.  I hope they haven't done anything with the actual appearance of the paint.

Sounds like a typo to me.  I think those are the standard (non-CVO) colors.

Anniversary Copper/Vivid Black is the non-CVO anniversary color.

Or at least they weren't the same color.  Would suck for upcoming owners if there was even less visually unique them.

My bike is suppose to be here in March along with a lot of others. I really don't see how the MOCO can deliver so many bikes at one time. My bike's original delivery date was January but the dealer in Roger, AR said they HD had ran out of paint. I hope the is a typo because I really like that color combo. I have already sold my bike for a down payment on a 105th Anniversary SE Ultra, and if the Duracell I order is not crystal Copper and Black Onyx. I'm going to be very upset. I will defiantly be calling the dealership tomorrow. Eddie

You'll get the right color.

Welcome to the site from western NY.  Enjoy the CVO when it comes in.

Hey Eddie like Jgorge said you will get the right color so I would not worry about it.

Also welcome to the site and a fellow Arkansawer too!  :2vrolijk_21:  I get to FS area all the time so maybe we will meet sometime.  So did you buy from Maxie at FS or did you go to Pig Trail?

My New SEUC Anniversary has arrived at the dealership and I'm picking it up today or tomorrow and the colour has not changed.  It looks awesome.  Just hope it doesn't let me down like the black and orange 2007 SEUC.

Hey Chopperjohnny,

I got rid of my '07 Jester for an '08 Duracell...have about 150 miles on it now, real pleased so far...can tell the difference...much smoother ride, 5 gear is quieter and she wants to definitely RUN!!!!  Hope it stays that way!!!

Good Luck.

Well, if it is a typo, they've unfortunately made it in a few places... It appears that the MoCo has updated their site and the "new" listed colour for the SEUC Anniversary is stated as: "Copper Pearl & Vivid Black", which is not exactly the same as the FLHTCU's colour???

I have a concern as I have a replacement TP and SB on order... Hope it matches?

Bubba, I am buying mine at Jone's in Little Rock. Maxie is only getting one Duracell and it has already sold. Pig Trail wanted 2K over msrp. and Jone is about 1.5K cheaper.

I called the motor company today and they said that all 105th Anniversary Bikes including the CVOs will be Anniversary Copper pearl & Vivid Black. Then I called back and asked when the change took effect, and the operator said the website is wrong. Now I'm confussed! I don't really think they would change colors in the middle of production.

If I or any of my other web masters were to make a mistake like that, we'd be looking for someplace else to work.  Sounds like they subbed out the work to a non-HD web publisher who would not know the difference between the CVO line from a Victory.  This is how they have Honda's on the front of their Enthusiast magazine.

Only HD would give that reason,  hang in there it's worth the wait.
