Had a set of the first batch Bassani made on my 02 road king and blister the chrome right off the header pipe. they revised the heat shield and sent out a replacement for free.  They worked well with Samson mufflers.  Makes a lot of sense to have both headers the same length when tuning.

Bubba_T has an odd exhaust setup on his bike that actually seems to work well. Just wondering what some of you gearheads think. He's got Bassani head pipes with Hooker slip-ons. They are true duals with no crossover. The Bassani rear pipe has a 180 degree loop in it that Beagle says is intended to balance out the length of the pipe with the front pipe. The Hooker slip-ons are tuneable however when Beagle put the Freedon cams in his 103, Cycle Visions swore they couldn't make the bike run right with the Hookers and go Beags to buy a set of Reinharts. So anyway, what's everyone's opinion on this. Bubba_T is doing some motor upgrades and for the initial set-up we're going to stay with what he's got. They ran strong with his stock 03 SERK moto (SE Breather and PCIII)  a H-D 6 speed tranny, and stock primary and final drive pulleys.

B B

I have a similar set up on  my '06 Haze, except I have Supertrapp Super megs > Have run both 18 & 21 discs just to see what's up,didn't notice a lot of difference. either way with the ass dyno.
Getting ready to send them to HPC in OK City for coating then I'll tune it with Twin Scan. really hits hard on the bottom end, and pulls hard all the way to 5600.. Nice and quiet, can listen to the radio at 80+. So far I'm really pleased. Greg

Update on this thread and an invitation for comment

First, both Dave Mackie and John Golden recommended that if Bubba_T wanted to stay with dual exhaust, that the Bassani True Duals were the best setup. With that in mind, I posted that we were looking to buy a set of Bassani mufflers to go with the Bassani True-Dual headpipes we already had. Site member Bungy came through for us on that and I received the Bassani mufflers UPS today. Opened the box and they are in nice shape. Here's my question. These mufflers are flow through design. There's nothing blocking the path of the exhaust as it travels down the pipe. They do expand quite a bit to a very large diameter at the end and have a reverse cone design inside. I'm looking to hear from members who have this set-up or have had it in the past as to how loud the system is. The fact that Dave Mackie AND John Golden both recommend them tells me we will be happy with the performance, I'm just interested in a wide spectrum of opinion on the decibel level.

Thanks

Ok asshole, we're even now.  The first thing I thought of was NOT fit to write.  But it was so funny while it was still in my head that self spewed myself and made stuff come out my nose and made stuff from nose come out up underneath my eyes.  I don't know whether to call a paramedic for me or the keyboard.

Had moved from beer to a bit of MacAllan.  The 18 is just not nearly as smooth coming up behind the eyeballs as it is going down normally the other way.
