Heated Grips

I have read some threads concerning the heated grips. Is this a problem within a certain model and year? My 08 SEUC grips failed within a week of delivery. Is the repair just replacing with the same parts or is it a modification? :pepper:

Welcome to the site Sawyer.  Regarding the grips, they have been std since 06 on the SEUC and a lot have failed.  Several members have had them replaced several times.
The whole set has to be replaced.  Do a search and you will find many pages on the subject.

A lot of people have had theirs fail.  It is not problem to take you bike in and get them fixed.  Some have expressed their concern that while they are waiting for replacement parts and then the time it takes to get the mechanic scheduled to work on the bike, it adds to an lot of frustration. But if you can get your dealership to order the parts and schedule a time that works for you, then you get them replaced - over and over and over and then again ----- over again. 

My bike did not come with them, but I bought them and had them installed.  I am now on set 6 ----- no I did not stutter ------ my sixth set of HD heated grips.  When they work they are wonderful.  But don't count on them exclusively, as they seem to know when you really want them, and pick that time to fail.

I got one of the last 06 Haze SEUC in May 2006. I have not had any problems with my grips. I use the grips a lot but not the seat. An air cooled seat and heated grips would be the magic combination for me. Other than excessive engine heat, I am pretty happy with my Hazer. ???

New part # for 08 but same issue I'm on my 3rd set, last set worked but the left grip moves almost as much as the throttle does.

I also have an 06 delivered in May06 and have had no issues in 20K miles.  Living in NV I use them a lot.

Best money I ever spent (at least when it is below 55 degrees) was on my heated gloves :D

My 06 SEUC came with faulty heated grips.  In fact, they would shock the hell out of you.  Had them replaced and they have worked fine ever since.
