I had 12,500 miles on the NGK's when they were replaced and the bike still ran great and the plugs looked good to.
GRC and 2Lane, you're killing me, especially Don.  Everything you have on your bike is 1st class and you use the std plugs when you can have something better.  Not like you.  Put some NGK's in there with the new build.  :)

ok, ok, anything for you Bob.  Got to get a set of plugs before the new heads go back on sometime in the next week or so anyway (good grief I hope I get to work on it in the next week or so).  NBA it will be.  Get me some of those TALL spark plugs.

oops, meant NGK.

Interesting Chuck. What's your take on it? No heat ranges. All 14mm thread, with 5 different reaches. 25 bucks a piece. They have another device for racing and motorcycles called DirectHits at 35 bucks a piece! It seems to be added on to regular plugs to convert them to Pulstar type plugs. They tell a good story. Is the story fact or fiction? :nixweiss:

Well, the party ends too soon if they don't offer 12mm. I didn't dig into them as I'm happy with what I'm running, stockers.

That's what those DirectHits are used for, when they don't have a Pulstar for your application.

I forgot, that's the other HD part left in my engine. I've always used regular HD plugs, which I was told were made by Champion. Don't know if that's the case anymore. Everyone I knew always ran RN12YC's on shovels and evo's. I always bought the HD plugs tho. But Bob might have just guilted me into trying the NGK's. ;)

I had heard they were Champions too. I've used Autolites with good luck too. As long as they're not fouling out and running good, I'll stick with what has worked for me in the past, unless someone can prove Brand 'X' benefits me in some way other than lightening my wallet.  ;D

To anyone that uses the NGK Iridium's, to gap them properly you have to bend the ground strap to get the proper gap as you can not use a "slide type" gapper to make the gap bigger or you will ruin the fine iridium tip.

I personally don't think you can buy a plug that is made any better than an NGK, whether it be for a weed wacker or a multivalve engine.  Pete uses them too.

I give $8.59 ea for them at Napa at jobber price.

Amsoil (which is all I use) handles NGK spark plugs.  I am a "preferred customer" which means I buy at wholesale prices.  I'm sure there are several others on this site that do the same.  It's only $20 a year to do this.
I live in a very small town, so I like the fact that I can order up oil, filters, plugs, windshield wipers, etc. and have the UPS truck bring them to my front door.   :2vrolijk_21:
